If they didn't turn themselves in, the consequences would have been even worse. Either way this is a real shame because Joe Paterno will most likely rovoke their scholarships and kick them off the team regardless of if they are charged. Scirrotto and King were both great players.
Some kids just get mixed up with the wrong crowds.

Don't know if it was in the article, but on the news Paterno was quoted as saying he'll (rightfully) wait for due process before he kicks them off...
But yeah, Scirrotto probably won't have the opportunity to step on a football field again for the charges against him...
