Okay, readers of my Penn State NIttany Lions dynasty may remember Marques Whitaker. He took over the year after Derrick Williams graduated. Whitaker played four years at Penn State and played very well considering an inconsistent passing game. He was a victim of a system change that could have easily allowed him to surpass every record Derrick Williams set.
I'm allowing you guys to give me a little feedback. I am thinking about inducting him to my Dynasty Hall of Fame. The only reason I hesistated so long is because I was afraid he was too much like Derrick Williams.
Here are Marques Whitaker's stats over four seasons. In his freshman season he busted on the scene with 77 Rec, 1,227 Yds, and 11 TD. His stats dipped in 2010 during a 5-6 season. In his junior year he dominated once again with 72 Rec, 1,321 Yds, and 9 TD; a clone of his freshman season. In his senior season, however, the team shifted to a run first style and his stats dropped once again.
Still, he finished his career with 275 Rec, 4,138 Yds, and 32 TDs. Remember he also returned kicks as well and had twio career punt returns for touchdowns. He also proved to be a great passer as he had two career touchdown passes against Ohio State (the devout readers will remember the game he donned the nickname Mr. Everything).
So in short, all I'd like is a yes or no and maybe a short analysis of why you chose the way you did. Thanks a million guys, this hasn't been easy for me either.

Who cares if he's like Williams? He still put up the numbers.

The Dynasty Hall of Fame is all about careers. This kid had the numbers, was a model citizen, and filled the shoes of one of the greatest.
A defiante yes in my mind.

His stats are not amazing, and his sophomore slump concern me to be honest. You can't hold the senior year against him because of a system change. I think he's a yes but it is close. His stats were pretty good and followed an amazing player.

Honestly I have to say no, because I think you will run across a better WR. Sure he had a standout Freshman year, but really he was your only good WR and you had a hell of a QB.
So sorry but he doesn't touch D.Williams and I say no...

I think he's good to go, his sophmore and senior season tarnish his career a bit but I think he's proven his place.

Averaging near 70 receptions, over 1,000 yards, and eight TD per season is pretty good in my book.
That said, it's close to call. Williams was an exceptional player.

Personally I think I need to see his pro stats, if he is successful there then yes, if not then I would have to say no.

How would his professional stats matter if he gets elected into a COLLEGE hall of fame.

It's actually just my Penn State hall of fame. If any of you are interested in his pro stats, here's a synopsis of how things have gone:
He was drafted second round, 34th overall to the Dallas Cowboys. In his rookie season he had just 33 receptions but 11 touchdowns. The Cowboys actually drafted a half decent quarterback and ever since then he's been a solid 60-800-10 receiver. Not the best player in the world, but a solid #1 option on a run first team.
After three years in the league, the Topeka Tornadoes swapped Calvin Johnson and a fifth rounder for Marques Whitaker and a third rounder on draft day. After six games with the Tornadoes, he has 32 receptions for 447 yards and no touchdowns. His teammate, Derrick Williams, has 37 receptions for 588 yards and seven touchdowns. Williams is in his seventh season though.
Just thought I'd clue you in. And also, I have decided he will be inducted to the Penn State Hall of Fame later today. Thanks for your input.
