I think Oregon State's a team that could surprise in a weaker Pac-10 this year. Beating USC was a nice feather in their cap last season, and they won ten games last year. However, if they don't find a suitable quarterback, they probably won't reach ten wins due to a brand-new OL and suspect defense. Bernard's a nice runningback, though.

The bowl game was simply the worst-officiated game I have ever witnessed.
I'm STILL sore over that.
That said, Oregon State has a chance to be real this year, but Oregon and Cal are probably still better teams than they are right now. That could change, but I don't look for Oregon to be as bad as they were last year, and Cal still has some playmakers on offense and a pretty good defense.
O-State doesn't have much of a defense, either. But who does in the Pac-10?

No. 20 Tennessee
No love for the SEC with Auburn and Tennessee so low.

As long as Colt Brennan stays healthy, i think Hawaii can very well go undefeated this year. That last game against Washington will be big but they're playing in Hawaii.
Who knows, Hawaii may be the next Boise State.

Losing five players to the NFL Draft doesn't help, either. Their defense wasn't outstanding overall, but had some talent there. Purcell and Francis were studs for them.
Just think if they had lost Brennan to the league this year, as well. Ouch.

No. 20 Tennessee No love for the SEC with Auburn and Tennessee so low. I don't see why they should be any higher. That's even ignoring the hate I feel towards both, they just lost a lot of talent this off season.

I think Athlon usually does a good job in their rankings every year. Put Tennessee at 20, let them prove they are worthy of that ranking or better. I'm no SEC person, but after all that the Vols lost, I don't even see them in the top 25 much this year, if at all.
Not so sure about Auburn.

The SEC is clearly the most talented conference. Tennessee crushed cal last season, did you forget that?

I have a feeling that Brennan will flop this year.
Well, not flop exactly, but throw 45 TD's and have the media label it "A Down Year". I mean, for him to win the Heisman, he's going to have to throw 70 Touchdowns.

Would you mind elaborating then... seeing how I could easily BS my way into saying I've seen Temple in the Top 5 in multiple outlets as well...
