I have to rant - so hold on tight.
The Big 12 is officially a joke. UT, NU, and OU had Weiberg by the sack, and before he bolts for the Big 10, gives us a better, but still sub-par TV contract because it benefits the big three over the other eight or nine. I really hope A&M votes for revenue sharing because IMO it will save the Big 12. From what I hear, they are sick of UT trying to dominate the TV markets around the Big 12 viewing area.
And then Nebraska throws salt on the wound, as their chancellor is now heading up the search, and I can guarantee you he's going to find someone that looks out for the big boys. I don't hate UT so much, but I'm really beginning to hate NU more and more, and this kinda kicks it for me. I've never seen a fanbase that gets so worked up over getting back to "dominance". I really don't think they'll ever get back to that, personally, especially if A&M switches over and they get a revenue-sharing package. It's really embarrassing for them and the conference. Maybe this is the weight that finally tips the scales in favor of the smaller teams, especially the North, where there is some pretty good football, it's just that no one ever sees it.
EDIT: Additionally, this TV package is really why the North has sucked for it's entire existence. Teams that are on TV more naturally will attract better recruits, which make better teams.
