I struggled with Ark St as UT in my first game... think I ended up winning 31-13 due to some returned INTs

I struggled with Ark St as UT in my first game... think I ended up winning 31-13 due to some returned INTs I played on varsity for my first game just to assure a victory before moving up to All-American. I didn't even know Ark St was in the FBS!

Nothing like a relaxing Friday night at home. My plans for sushi have been ruined. Anyway, it's allowed me to dig into NCAA for real and get a feel for it. I first noticed I suck at offense...like big time. I can't get the running game going, seems like every hole has a linebacker in it. When those are stuffed, I try to bounce it outside to only find the DE break off the OT and knock me down after two yards. If I could pass well it would be a different story, but even against Memphis and Buffalo I could barely pass for 50%. Lucky for me though, I really haven't delt with the turnover issues everyone else has. My big issue is that when I play defense, it seems like we're too good. I've only given up 21 points in seven games, and it's not like I was playing shit teams all day. The interceptions I've been getting are insane! I picked off ND eight times with PSU and in every game so far my team has at least gotten three ints. I've turned the sliders down to 0 Int for the human and lowered the awareness. Anyway, I'm probably going to play a little more with Ole Miss in my dynasty. I just won our first game against Memphis 34-7 (two pick sixes ballooned that score). Maybe Mizzou will be able to move the ball a bit better.

Went into double OT with Mizzou using the Illini, great game, I eventually lost on blown coverage, 48-45.

After a 41-3 record against the CPU on Varsity, I played my first game on AA, just happened to play for the Illibuck as OSU and it was once 16-14 but I pulled away to win 33-14... can't wait to see how it is against evenly matched teams

I started using some sliders from maddenmania for All-American and the game is still a bit to easy for me. I think it's about time to make the big jump from AA to Heisman.
I just won a fantastic game against Tennessee in the SEC Championship though. Got up 31-14 after intercepting a fake punt for a TD. The Vols then scored 21 straight in four minutes to put us down 35-31 with four minutes left. We got shut down on our next drive and had to force a stop to get another shot at a drive with enough time. Somehow, we stop the Vols on 3rd and 3 and get them to punt with a little under 2 minutes left.
I noticed earlier in the game that they would really bite on the running back getting the ball on the QB Choice option play. So my first play on this drive that I almost had to score on was to run a WR option that acts like a QB choice but after faking the handoff the slot WR runs with you. It left me one on one with Schaeffer aginast their CB and a pitch man. The CB went after Brent and I pitched it for a 61 yard TD run that put us up for good! Great 38-35 game.
I just don't like the fact I was able to hang with UT. I think if it wasn't for Brent's speed though, we'd be a much different animal. His ability to manage the game and run the ball made a tremendous difference in the Rebels offense. I'm going to try next year with the sliders tweaked a bit on AA, since I'm not going to have the same speed at QB. Another SEC crown, and it's Heisman time. That or we blow out a big time team or something.
So far though, NCAA 2008 is as much fun for me as 04 was.

if you mind me asking bama, what was your overall record? 12-1...which is a problem with Ole Miss. Even worse when you consider I outgained UGA 365-62 and lost by three. The only team that outplayed us all year was Florida, and we slipped by on Tebow making a bad pitch on the UF ten and us having four shots at the endzone for the win from the six. I play 11-1 UCLA in the Sugar Bowl. So if I win, I'm going to mess with the sliders some more to add difficulty (which is going to be tough since the CPU is arleady sitting pretty).
