I for the life of me can't play defense. I have my moments, but it seems whenever the CPU gets a third down and they pass they get it 95% of the time. I play on AA, blitz, drop back, man up, just about everything, but I can't seem to keep the CPU from completeing passes. JPW keeps lighting me up for like 350-400 yards and I can't stop the guy for anything. D.J. Hall is good, but it doesnt seem to be him that is hurting me it is the other guys. Anyone have some tips to playing better defense?

idk, because I seem to have the reverse problem. The defense is really good. I only have close games when the other team I'm playing against is really good, such as Florida

Mix up coverages, blitzes, and what not. I try to do this, but I've seen some quarterbacks just go crazy and not be able to miss a pass. Hell Casey Dick went 15/15 for 190 yards and 2 TD in the second half of a game against Arky last night (I lost 27-20 in OT). It didn't matter what I did, he'd release the ball within a second and hit a guy for a ten yard gain. I used some zone, and even some man coverage playing bump and run and he'd hit the pass as soon as he snapped the ball and I was just along for the ride.
I still have a top ten defense though, hopefully that'll stay in tact against LSU later.

bama's right... you just keep changing it up with different looks...try man/zone defenses and mix in zone blitzes and eventually you'll get a pick... I was playing Minnesota as Michigan in one game and got 10 INTs on AA

I could give you a ton of tips, but not right now - too tired. Tomorrow I'll post my defensive scheme. I believe you saw it in action when I shut down McFadden (relatively speaking).
Maybe someone could give me some offensive help and I'd be one hell of a virtual coach.

I've tried this, trust me....I have played the Alabama Vanderbilt game about 5 times now. I can not for the life of me stop JPW. I know he is a decent QB, nothing super special, and neither are their WR's....I just can't stop him, ive tried zone, man, blitz, all out blitz, max zone, rushing three I just can't stop their passing game. I just about started dropping F bombs before I shut it off once again. I have no problem losing, its a given at Vandy, but I want the games to be semi-close and not me losing by 21+ points to a team that isn't rated much higher than I...yankee you wanna post your sliders you have?
edit: you too bama

I'm using NJPapi's AA sliders from Maddenmania.
What kind of defense do you run ASM? I've had to try a lot of bend but don't break stuff this season with Ole Miss. Kepted everything in front of us against Florida and Texas Tech and only had them score 20 on us. Against Alabama I like to bring pressure on the right side of the offensive line (at least yeear one). Chirs Capps is still a joke, and a good pass blitz to that right side will get pressure to the QB if he doesn't get rid of it within a second.

I've tried litterly everything in my playbook. From run blitz's, to zone blitz's, max zones, everything. My defense isnt rated bad at all, but JPW is still tearing me apart. I'm not sure why but im tryin Papa's Heisman sliders, hoping my defense will improve with the increase in level. I'm just tryin stuff out to see if i can get it to work. At this point my dynasty is stalled because of this game....its not that I have to win it either. Like I said i just want typical SEC football, you know 21-17 games, scores like that, not ones in the high 30's low 40's for each team....

that's one instance... as long as my opponent is as good or better than the team I'm using then it's close

ASM try my sliders and if that works let me know, if it doesn't I'll give a comprehesive review of my defensive scheme in certain situations.
