Hawaii hate aside, why did Harrell not gain any recognition?
Harrell
* 468-644, 5298 yards, 45 TD, 72.7% comp.
Brennan
* 337-472, 4174 yards, 38 TD, 71.4 % comp.
Tougher conference, 1,000 more yards, more TD's, better completion percentage....

Just let it go.
(Also it's not that hard to get 1,000 more yards and seven more TD's when you throw the ball almost 200 times more than the other guy)

Lubbock, Texas
Where the nations best QB throws to the nations best WR.
Good point Spartan, he should've had some recognition.

Isn't this a logical question? Can you put the one week out of your mind for like 5 seconds? I figured 5,000 yards passing is somewhat of a decent stat and wondered why Brennan was getting hype every day and no one said anything about Harrell.

Secondly, no, it's not a real logical question considering that Brennan missed two games and even if he had played and attempted the average amount of passes he usually does he still would've falled nearly 70 attempts short of Harrell.

You said let it go. Which I'm sure you were referring to Hawaii hate by myself. Or some incident that hurt you.
But regardless of passing attempts, that is still an amazing feat and I don't seriously know how it can't be recognized.

You could make a case for Crabtree (somewhat) being the nation's best receiver, but Harrell as best quarterback? I can think of six or seven off the top of my head that are just as good, if not better than he is.

Brennan had:
406/559 5549yds 72.6% 58TDs 12INT 185.96QB Rating last season but finished 6th in hesiman voting, he recieved pretty much the same recongnition last year as Harrell got this year.. and better stats than harrell did this season. Plus.. Brennan won more games this season.

As has been stated, when you throw the ball nearly 650 times, you'll probably have pretty good stats. I don't totally agree that Brennan should've been a finalist, but there weren't many outstanding candidates.
Honestly, this just seems like another potshot at Hawaii.

Here's why it shouldn't be recognized. With only 559 attempts last year (85 less than Harrell) Brennan threw for more yards and more touchdowns.

And 2006 stats have exaclty what to do with the 2007 Heisman? Comparison's sake that if Brennan can only finish 4th last year with those stats that Harrell doesn't deserve top 5 status (And Brennan didn't deserve to be there at all this year).
