Does anybody do that? Just play offense alone and super sim the defense? I am currently thinking of doing that due to the fact that the opposing QB whether I gave up 3 points or whether I give up 33 points. Seriously it doesn't matter what I do. If I drop 9 back and only rush my DT's, the QB always completes a post in to triple coverage. If I blitz anybody at all the QB throws the ball right where the blitzer lined up pre-snap.
Back when I first got the game that is how I played, and just super-simmed defense. Had a fairly realistic first season on Heisman, went 12-1 and won the Rose Bowl over UCLA.
Anybody do that?

Lower human awareness (a bit) and CPU QB acc. So you don't intercept too many passes and the QB doesn't go apeshit. It's not going to fix it, but it'll help.

What level did you play on for your Ole Miss dynasty Bama? I switched back and forth on my Ohio State dynasty between Heisman and All-American. I could not be challenged offensively. I would regularly complete somewhere around 70% of my passes easily even with terrible quarterbacks. The only games I ever had trouble running were the ones where the CPU just decides that you aren't going to run the ball successfully, no matter how hard you try. I was able to average around 5.8 YPC with Beanie Wells both years, so it was realistic on the ground, but the only time I'd ever get stopped offensively was on an interception. I rarely punted, always a turnover that gave the other team the ball. Defensively, I can't do jack shit on either level. Now, I haven't played with the patch yet. But I'm also considering going down to Varsity, because a lot of guys are saying that with the right sliders the game plays better there than on the higher levels.

I'm running on All-American. I can play on Heisman, but the game doesn't play right. I'm still fighting with the sliders man, because I cannot quite get it right. What I told you helped me a bit, but I had three games last year where the cpu QB went over 80% passing. Hell Alabama's QB (Best team in the West besides us year in and year out) went something like 32/33 for 500 yards and 6 TDs. Never been that frustrated during a game.
Needless to say the slider adjustment I made before the season started was changed. I generally never change sliders in a season, because you need a good sample to see what is working and what is not. It's really hard to find good sliders. NJPapi's AA sliders (MM) are a good baseline though man. I can never find Varsity sliders that work.

Are you still playing your dynasty? First, if you are, props that you've been playing it this long before the patch. Secondly, and off-topic, but what is the state of the top teams in the country (And more important in the Big Ten) in your dynasty, if you don't mind?
I don't mind it when 90+ ovr QB's are lighting me up for 400 yards and 4 or 5 TD's, because they've got the rating to back that up. But when 70-something overall Tony Mortenson from Minnesota lights me up for over 400 yards and 4 TD's, I've got a problem.

Top teams in the nation are not that much different 9 years down the road. The Big Ten has simplified into Michigan/Ohio State being the only powers. For the last three years they have been undefeated going into the big game. Well Penn State sometimes makes a good showing, but overall the Big Ten is weak outside of those two teams.
Other powers are USC, Oklahoma, VT, WVU, Nebraska, Alabama, Florida, and the one odd one Arizona. (Not mentioning Ole Miss because that was my doing)
Yeah I'm still having fun with this dynasty, though I've taken a break to play my Saints chise. I've got a tailback who has a chance to break the NCAA record for career rushing yards and rushing TDs. He's a 230 pound Reggie Bush clone, really should be a cheat code. Just having fun.

bumping up the knockdowns helps I find. also I find that using the 3-4 D with the cover 3 play controlling the safety in the hook zone really helps cause thats were I find the highest percentage of passes are being thrown (in the 5-10 yard zone).
Edit: the real problem I have with super sim is that it doesn't realistically keep track of how much time each play takes. In my campus legend I was a 4th string WR at Hawaii so supersim was used alot and, with 8 min quarters, my team was running around 100+ plays a game it was ridiculous.

Interesting. I'm thinking of starting a dynasty with one of 3 teams... 1) UNC- Most likely headed to college there, and could install my own system and such. 2) Ohio State- This is Sporstbuck. 'Nuff said. 3) Alabama- Intrigue of the SEC plus the rivalry with Auburn.

I'm really too good at defense in this game, even on Heisman. This is the PS2 version I'm talking about so it's probably a lot different. At first I just cheesed the CPU with cover 3 and blitzes and my fourth string corner won the award for best dback or whatever it is. Then, i found that unrealistic and started randomly selecting plays, but I was still owning the offense. I liked 07 much better than 08...

Sportsbuck if you want I will post my sliders tommorow when I get home. My opposing QB's complete sometimes around 70%, but usually around 60%. They run the ball decent depending on the team.
On offense, you can't make stupid decisions and expect to get away from it. You have to actually read if it's zone or man defense. The running game can be very successful if you know how to use the lead blocker control, which is why I stay away from it. Im a fairly good NCAA player and here is how my first two Alabama seasons went.
2007: I had regular season losses against Georgia and LSU. Beat Auburn by 3 points. Came back down by 17 points in the 4th to beat Tennessee. Went to the Capital One Bowl and loss to Penn State.
2008: Lost a lot of players, especially on defense. I didn't play very well in some games but it was a tough schedule too. I scheduled Penn State as my first game because I enjoyed the bowl. They beat me yet again, then I lost to Georgia again, LSU again, and Virginia. I have yet to play the bowl but i'm playing Iowa in the Outback Bowl I believe.
Overall, I enjoy the sliders a lot. I know it's going to be hard every season to get my team to the NC game. Heck even to get to the SEC Championship game.

I want to check those out too Backstop. For some reason I'm much better at reading a defense on Madden, but I would like to give them a run through. Since I got Ole Miss good, my sliders have turned out to be too easy. When we still sucked I had realistic games, but now my only tough games are when the CPU QB goes apeshit.

I'll check them out Backstop.
I just got done recruiting for my UNC dynasty (implementing a spread offense), woo hoo! Landed a 3 star QB with 94 speed, and a 4 star WR with 98 speed. Say hello to the spread option!
