They added home court advantage. That's enough to get me to buy it.
Also:
"The first thing you'll notice about March Madness 2005 is the game's brand new, created from the sneakers up graphics engine. All new player models, more detailed faces and gear, and smoother textures make for athletes who finally look like they could jump out of your TV and challenge you to a game. On top of that, all new arenas have been added to the game (double the arenas to be exact) to add to the realism, including the home courts of both Cal and Michigan.
"Also adding to the atmosphere are the additions of school specific crowd chants, more attractive cheerleaders, and bands in the crowd playing favorite Jock Jams like Tequila.
"Dynasty mode details are still sparse at the moment, but EA promises in-season recruiting, a new PDA system to receive e-mails from coaches, trainers, and scouts, not to mention AD's looking to hire (or fire) you, depending on your success.
"On the court, gamers will have the choice to come down strong with the rebound or attempt to keep the ball alive with tips. You can get in position and go for the tip in, the tip dunk, or clear out some space, come down with the board, then go back up with the strong finish.
"To help make the game more realistic, there will be three times the amount of team specific offensive plays that will enable wannabe coaches the opportunity to customize your O exactly the way you want. To counter the offensive flurry, there will also be all new defensive plays added to the game as well, courtesy of the coaches who helped out with last season's Coach's Counsel.
"If you're a die-hard hoop head, you'll be happy about the addition of College Classic mode. Right now, plans are to have a minimum of 20 classic teams, from Michigan's Fab Five to the '82 Carolina Tar Heels. MM2005 will also feature every team except for the independents, over 320 in total, to give gamers who didn't go to Duke the opportunity to play as their hometown team or school that might have been a little stronger in underwater basket weaving than the three-man weave."

I haven't decided if I'll be getting either ESPN Hoops again or switch over to March Madness. I'll have to rent them both and see which one I like best. March Madness is looking real good.

I know, home court advantage in a basketball game = uber kewlness. I just hope it can be as good as NCAA FB 2005.

Home field advantage in football makes me mad when I'm a crappy team because they start to play like poop

I like the feel of an NCAA BB game...it's pretty fast-paced and you just get that electric atmosphere every time there's a big dunk or three. I like that, and this game shows it.
Me = buying this.

only thing with MM04 refering to the "Big 3".... it was streaky. If you or the opponent hit a big one with a big crowd reaction, there was never any question you could take the PG down to the wing and pop a 3 without a problem. You could see 7 or 8 threes in a row within a minute or two of game time. It's not like it was a BIG problem, but it seemed much easier to hit the three right after the other team hit one, then it went from there.
