I just bought the game and was wondering how everybody fairs in their first few games in Career mode with one of the games chosen 12-15 teams. I started the mode on All Conference level.
I started with Alabama A&M and found out early that this game was very realistic and hard to compete right off the bat, like March Madness. My first game was against Birmingham Southern and I got it handed to me by 28. Then I played Georgia, who is not a good team even though they are in the SEC due to sanctions, but they beat me by 15. In my next game I was pounded again by 18 at the hands of a good SMS team, and it only got down to 18 in the final couple of minutes as the lead was steadily above 20 in the second half.

I too just purchased the game a few days ago. I played a few exhibition games first...what I did is try to find two teams that are evenly rated, and see if I had a close game or not. After a few practice games, I started a career legacy with Navy. I think I was 4-3, playing mostly poor teams. I didn’t know what the heck I was doing with recruiting though, so I started a new career legacy last night.
In my new legacy, I’m Radford. I actually have a guy who is has a 3pt rating of 87 (none of my Navy guys were close). He was also rated as ‘on fire’ and he ended up hitting his first three 3-pointers in my first game. I jumped out to a 10-0 lead against Yale, and won by about that margin. In my second game, I played #23 Charlotte. It was a close game until Charlotte went on a 14-0 run with about 4:00 left to blow the game open. Seemed realistic...my guys just wore down and were like slugs out there.
I plan on making a dynasty site for this team pretty soon, so you can follow it if you like.
After a few games, I can tell I’ve gotten better. I’m wondering if I should turn down the 3-pointer slider? Seems like the guys with a ‘3’ by them rarely miss (well, I guess that’s how it should be, but most guys seem to hit at least three in a row before missing). Then again, my guys who do not have a ‘3’ by them never seem to hit any threes, so maybe it’s fine.
Edit: I should mention that I'm playing on the default settings...I think most of the experienced guys here play on a harder difficulty.
