mb21.scout.com/fwisconsin36703frm10.showMessage?topicID=7627.topicThis is the funniest thing I have read about UW Mike Wilkinson who graduated last year and is now playing overseas. Funny thing is its his wife who is by far an idoit. Example her yelling at refs and antics during last year's tourney. She is the typical girl that knows little about the game but dearly loves her stiff of a boyfriend. What makes the article funny is how they expect to be handed the world when they go play overseas. Hello wisconsin farm kids do your research before you go somewhere, everyone for years has known foriegn basketball isn't the life they make it seem. I think Wilkinson was a pretty good player at UW but come on, his wife is killing me with the ranting and raving. Everyone knows about Euro basketball its like corrupt system and has been that way for years. Still i can't get over the complaining, any depression that Mike suffers over there she is the direct cause of it. If it is so bad maybe Mike should come back to the US and play in the CBA and maybe can play in the D-League. Although they are not big money making leagues, they do seem to have a quicker path to the NBA. Then again I don't think Mike Wilkinson is D-League material. He can carve out a good career overseas but with that wife wow. Feel sorry for that kid.

I can see why she's upset, but then again, I think it's pretty pathetic to complain about all that. I don't know much about overseas basketball, but it seems like a pretty corrupt system, as mtroy mentioned.
I think this wife of his was brought up in a priviledged home, and if something doesn't go her way, she's going to raise a big stink about it.
The part where she is talking about the guy from Wisconsin Milwaukee and then Jared Homan, the former Cyclone, getting all the stuff they wanted, to me, that screams jealousy, as, and this is my opinion, she thinks, "Well, those players are only just as good as my husband, if not worse, so we should at least have the same stuff they do." Might be a little off-base, but oh well.
But yes, they should have done some research on this, looking in hindsight.

Thought I'd mention that Taylor Coppenrath is playing at AEK Athens, and enjoying it.

Yea, I can only sympathize with her on the whole not getting played so you'll sign a long term contract. I have heard that over and over from players talking about the foriegn experience. I think they went over there thinking it would be the NBA life. If you look at many players that are from the US that are succesful over there many have agents that work for them or are agents from the united states. Yea there is a lot of jealousy on her part. The guy was an above average player in the Big Ten but he wasn't a superstar or anything. Somehow I just can't stomach this women. I have read articles about last year Minnesota vs Wisconsin game and how she is very vocal, and boarderline heckler. To me she sounds like she may be a guy. I just think they thought going over seas that he would be a great player instantly and there would be a need for him, and he would just have to show up and he would be worshipped. I guess they forget for every 58 players that get drafted there are more than hundreds that want to play basketball professionally and getting what you want may take something called sacrafices to get it. Maybe I leauge in Turkey or Israel might be more accomidating for them. The best about her is when she says we aren't going to the NBDL cause the pay is bad. If he was offered the chance to be selected in that draft they had and he passed it up, does he actually have a desire to play in the NBA. Come on if this guy loved basketball I don't think pay would factor in I would rather sit in America play basketball crappy pay but still has that quicker route to the NBA. Some people really bother me and she is one of them. So many of here problems have fixes to a permanent solution is found. The whole phone thing, I wonder if phone cards have ever been thought of in Wisconsin sometimes I wonder with what I see escape into our state at times. Still having a phone card is a whole lot easier than using your cell phone and cheaper too. Bringing a bunch of DVD's would have did wonders as well why you worked on the TV deal. I mean did they just pack their clothes and go. Oh well I guess I'll have to actually follow this when the season ends for them, I am actually trying to find the website to see who plays on this team besides him and Ryan Stack.

I see that he is like fourth in points. Wow she is just one piece of work and over exaggerated that story quite a bit. And if your team leader in assists is only 2.9 I think everyone seems to play one on one basketball too much. and he is second in rebounds I am sure he is getting plenty of minutes. I am going to have to go watch Minnesota vs Wisconsin tonight just for the hell of it. I think she is back in the states bet she will be at this game i'll defnitely look. 12.6 pts and 7.5 rebounds a game he defnitely must be getting no playing time. LOL chicks for ya.
