The question surrounding all NCAA basketball conversations these days. Does Notre Dame deserve a NCAA tournemant bid?
They are 10-10 and 1-8 in Big East conference play. But they have only lost those 8 games by a combined 26 points.

It doesn't matter if you lose by 1 or by 20. You lost.

Good teams win those games. Average teams let you score at the buzzer to escape with the win. Mike Brey is gone.

It doesn't matter if you lose by 1 or by 20. You lost. When you lose to 3 of the top 4 teams in your conference by a combined 6 total points. And then by 3 points to the team that knocked off the former #1 team that looked unstopable. I mean some of the teams that will get an at-large bid come March most likely wouldn't have fared that well against such high level of competition. Someone has to cut this team a little slack.

The only chance ND has is to win the Big East tournament, and that's not going to happen.

Yeah, I highly doubt that ND will make the tourney. Like you said, their 1-8 in conference and I personally don't see them turning it around any time soon.
Better luck next year...

I think that Syracuse is a bigger question. Granted they are 16-6, they have a tough schedule ahead of themselves. UConn, St.Johns, Cincy, Louisville, W Virginia, G'town, and Villanova lay ahead for them and that's pretty scary.
I can see them with like a 9-13 spot in the tourney......that is if they can start beating some quality teams. McNamara, Devendorf, and Roberts really need to start playing like they want to achieve something.
They should make the tourney, but I don't know. They have a really tough schedule.
