I just didn't think it would happen until the season's end. Quin Snyder is out as the head coach at Mizzou, and I must say that I am thoroughly happy. But, he started out with high expectations, and with the recruiting scandal of a few years back, and the team's struggles this year, it's just too much. To be honest, he should have started out at a smaller school, then worked his way up the ladder. But, I think he will find another job, just it won't be at a major D-I school.
Apparently, there's a strong list of names that are potential replacements after Melvin Watkins finishes his interim tenure. John Beilein from West Virginia, Mike Anderson from UAB, are just a few of the names that have been mentioned.

They're not getting Beilein from WVU. Beilein's had a lot better offers than Mizzou (no offense) that he's turned down in a heartbeat. He's a WVU alumn or WV native if I'm not mistaken, and it's been his dream job, so I can't see him leaving.

I don't take any offense to that...I figure that he (Beilein) won't leave. I just thought I would mention that he was on their short list.
But any of the others would be nice. UAB's Anderson and even Greg McDermott out of UNI would suffice. Rick Majerus has even been tied to the job.

Too many health risks with Majerus. I really hope he isn't given a look when the IU job opens up.

Too many health risks with Majerus. I really hope he isn't given a look when the IU job opens up. It always seems like to me, when a big-time job opens up, he is tied to it...but yeah, I personally wouldn't want him as the coach. Great basketball mind, but yes, health is an issue. I would like to have McDermott, since I like the up-tempo style, but it's really not going to matter who we get because a couple of players have threatened to either transfer or jump to the NBA, like Thomas Gardner, who has no business making the jump. The Tigers will probably have one more down year next year before going back on the upswing.
