Why don't teams foul the other team with 5 or so seconds left if they are up by 3. It just happened in the Indiana/Iowa game, and I know it happens A LOT. So why doesn't the opposing team ever foul the other team to be sure that that team can't shoot a three to tie it.

It's harder to nail a 3 than make one FT and then miss the second and get a tip-in, IMO. Plus, there's an increased risk of a foul underneath the basket off a miss when the two teams are fighting for a rebound.

Plus, who ended up winning?

Plus, who ended up winning? Iowa, the Indiana player at the end had a good running shot, but it hit the back iron.

The Big Ten in going to be really tight this year. Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan St, Indiana, and Wisconsin all have a shot to win it. I think it's going to come down to Illinois and Iowa or maybe Michigan St.
By far I think that the Big Ten is the best conference in the NCAA. I know some will say the Big East or maybe the ACC and SEC, but the amount of talent in the Big Ten is unbelievable.

I personally think that the Big East is slightly better, but not by much. The Big Ten and Big East are amasing. The Big East with UConn, Villnova, West Virginia, and Georgetown is kinda hard to pass up, but the Big Ten is amasing also.
The ACC is having a downfall season from previous seasons, but hey they are still alright.
The SEC isn't all that great, they have Florida and Tennessee, but for that not really anything.
The Big 12 is having a horrible season, but for Texas, and mabey Oklahoma.
But to answer you question, it is much harder to hit a three with in that time then make a free throw, and tip it in.

Ugly game for Indiana, minus the last few minutes. I like that Mike Davis was conveniently absent with the flu. Lots of rumors floating around Bloomington... he may not survive the day as the head coach.
Meanwhile, Ohio State fans are getting nervous, because they believe Thad Matta still has a clause in his contract for the IU job. Won't happen, but still funny to see 'em squirm.
