Gonzaga is ridiculously overrated. I'd be shocked if they're not gone in the first or second rounds. (Who knows... could we be looking at the first 1/16 upset ever?)

i dont think they'll get a 1 seed, but i agree. I'll have them losing early if they play a decent team. They should walk all over the team's they play and the last 3 or 4 have gone right down to the final seconds.

Exactly. So if the crazy events occur this week/weekend, and I see the following come up on my TV, I'll be a happy man.
#1 GONZAGA #16 VERMONT

I pray to God we get stuck in Gonzaga's bracket. Especially if DJ White comes back for the B10 tourney, as is being rumored.
Couple more championships tonight... go Butler!

I'm keeping my eye out for the Big 12, ACC and Big East tourneys, winner of the NCAA's comes out of one of those three brackets.

What about Ohio State or Illinois in the Big Ten? After all, the big ten has the highest conference RPI rating.

You definitely should not count out UNC (seeing how they beat you guys and obliterated Redick) and even teams like West Virginia (if Pittsnogle steps it up), BC, or Kansas. Just because those are the 4 best teams, it doesn't mean they are gonna win. Last year of course was the exception, but a #1 seed rarely takes it all...

Kansas and UNC are WAY to inexperienced to win it all in March. WV, hasnt been doing to hot as of late, due to Pittsnogle's dive. And BC, is just too, two-player dominated I think to go anywhere. (Much like Duke. But Redick, Williams > Dudley Smith)

What about Ohio State or Illinois in the Big Ten? After all, the big ten has the highest conference RPI rating. I wouldn't worry about Ohio State winning a title until next year. Dials can't do it all by himself up front, and even good outside-shooting teams like the Buckeyes tend to falter in the tournament. Wait until Oden and friends come in next year. Certainly, they have a shot, but all it takes is an off-night shooting to get bounced from the tournament. NCAA championship-type teams play good defense, have guards that can distribute the ball and big men that can score and rebound.

I can't imagine Greg Oden doing much more than Tyler Hansbrough has done this year, and I would give UNC very little chance to win the national championship.
As for Ohio State... I just don't see it. They won at MSU, sure, but MSU is, somehow, incredibly underachieving this year, despite having three players on the All-Big 10 teams. The win at home against Illinois was good, but Illinois hasn't performed well on the road this year--and neither has Dee Brown, putting up positively Bracey Wright-esque numbers. At Michigan? Slumping. At Wisconsin was a good win, however. They've lost at home to MSU, on the road to Indiana (blowing a 17 point lead)... they just don't strike me as a 1-seed, or even a contender.

Yes but Hansbrough is playing in a conference with great big men, and next year in the big ten there are very few impact big men.
But as for the big ten, we have hit a slump lately, and I am scared of playing the Big East.
And actually on topic for once in my posting, as I said before Davidson is flat-out dominating, I attened one of their practices as of late, and it was awesome. They have some talent here.

That Winters kid can shoot. I saw the highlights on ESPN of him in the SoCon title game, and the kid made the basket look like it was as wide as a swimming pool.

I just want to note South Alabama. You know, the guys from Mobile, Alabama. In the dance for the first time since 1998.
Hopefully the Jags can pull an upset.

Watching South Alabama play on ESPN (With pneumonia, I have little else to do), and I have to say, aside from the fact that they aren't all white, they remind me a lot of Vermont. I think if they get hot, they could easily knock off a team in the tournament.

You're right about South though, when they are hot than can beat anyone. I just hope they get hot in the first round, unless they draw Alabama in the first round (highly unlikely), and surprise someone. That would be cool.

Everybody on this site better be tuning in to Vermont - Albany this weekend. Come watch the inexpierenced team that is the Vermont Catamounts put up some great flashy play, and combine it with the inability to get past half-court in the last 5 minutes. We're the youngest team in the country, and we live up to the name.
