where the heck has he been hiding? No idea, but if he brings Mayo and Walker with him to KSU, the Big 12 is in for some changes.

eh I dunno, I still see recruits choosing Kansas over Kansas State. But Mayo and Walker are from Ohio, they grew up loving Huggins. I'd give him the edge over KU, and even rising Kansas recruiting power, Wichita State.

What amazes me is that Kansas City area sports columnists are already predicting K-State to be in contention for the Big 12 title next year, win 22-24 games, whatnot. Please. It's going to take two, three, maybe four years to get things turned around in Manhattan.

No way next year, but 07-08 Mayo is undoubtedly an all-around great player. he lives up to the hype he created after averaging like 27ppg on a varsity team when he was in 8th grade..he is gonna be a great pro some day. walker is an amazing athlete, but not a very polished player. he might need a few years in college to work on his game, but has tons of potential to be a vince carter-type player. one of the most ridiculous dunks i have EVER seen was one of his against oak hill. he's kind of lazy, he plays awful defense, and he's not a great shooter, but all three can be worked on.

He's also got some 7'2" kid coming in to visit the KSU campus. Apparently this player had never heard of Manhattan, Kansas until Huggins was hired there. I guess all the big-name schools are after him, but he's got KSU high on his list now, and all for a coach...

I guess ESPN is already lining out Big Monday games for the Wildcats...if I remember right, KSU hasn't been on national TV since they were last in the NCAA Tournament.
Amazing what a name can do for a program.

Huggins has always been a great recruiter, but part of that probably has to do with him not really caring what his players do off the court. As for where he's been hiding the past year or so - A/A. Look on the bright side...don't you really have to try to get into any trouble in Manhattan, KS? Isn't it pretty much in the middle of nowhere?

It's about an hour north-northwest of the KU campus in Lawrence. About the same-size town, too. It might not seem like you can get in any trouble, but J.R. Giddens got in quite a bit of trouble at a bar in Lawrence...who's to say that it won't happen in Manhattan, especially since there is a section of town full of bars dubbed "Aggieville"?
