is not coming out until February. They might think this is a good marketing system around tournament time, but it's definently not getting my money.
I'm making the switch over to college hoops this year (which comes out Nov 18th btw)

You're about two years late in your switch. CH has been yards ahead of MM since the 2004 releases, and it's been real obvious.
I don't think this is marketing either. I think after the travesty that was NBA Live, they decided to take their sweet time on MM. Won't help though.

March Madness is projected to be out across the board for all, but I don't think C-Hoops is out for the PS3. DB, you're right on about C-Hoops over the MM franchise. Basketball is the only sport true sport EA Sports has competition in and its losing.

Madden was starting to lag behind the 2K NFL series as well....or so many people said....and EA went and bought the exclusive rights. The NBA and NHL are being wise and not selling exclusive rights.
The only sport EA was really blowing 2K away in was MLB...and of course, 2K went out and got that license.

I honestly don't know why EA wastes their money on a College Basketball game... every year it seems to get worse. Basketball is clearly not EA's forte...

Can people even import draft classes into Live anymore? That's the only reason I even ever got March Madness, and that lasted a whole 2 months.
EA is really starting to lose it. Live use to be excellent, now it's disguisting to watch. All they do is edit ASW.
Football..they were starting to get caught up with, so they bought the NFL license. Nice move.
Baseball..Brinkman's out. They lost the license, so they make a college game that was missing half the teams.
Hockey is close. I myself like 2007 more, but 2K7 isn't really horrible. Their pretty much almost the same game.
And EA is making a skateboarding game to counter Tony Hawk. That should be fun to watch them tank horribly.

Yeah....2K now signed the lead producer/designer of the MVP series to hopefully do the same to the MLB 2K series.

I would like to see another solid baseball game soon from 2K. EA has its main development studios in California, New York, Chicago, and somewhere in Canada. EA Canada makes the March Madness game and that has always been a let down for me. That game was always just ok and its starting to actuallyget worse.

Don't hate on Canada.
EA Canada also made the wonderful NHL games of the late 90s and early 2000s, which are some of my favorite games ever.

I agree EA has really stunk when it comes to MM and Live the past few years, but I would never agree 2K was even close to EA when it comes to football. I would say none of the football games even compared to Madden.
Point made, EA should just stick with football anymore. I still havent got a basketball game this year...

EA definitely kicks a** in football and baseball. I like NBA live way better than NBA 2k. I don't know what you guys think is the problem with live. I thought the gameplay was really smooth last year in 06. Has it changed? On the topic of College Hoops, I think they both have their pros and cons. CH I think has better graphics at least arena graphics, but March Madness has a smoother gameplay. Maybe that's because I am playign CH 2k5 but it's seriously not easy to dunk. I am two feet from the rim and my center will jump UNDER the rim and then somehow wind up somewhere out in front and either dunk it or lay it in. At least with March Madness everything is smooth. I would buy either to be honest, but like most people, I am not waiting until frickin March. |

NBA Live's gameplay has been trash for at least five years. It just isn't sim, it's glitchy, I hate everything about it.
I don't know what you find smoother about EA's gameplay....I've always thought 2K's was far smoother.
And your problem is playing 2K5, no shot stick yet when you can control dunks and shots.

You didn't notice how you skate in Live? In '05, I remember if you got defensive foul and missed the basket, it would somehow be a turnover. Live has been trash since '04, and even then it was ehhh.
