Did he get fired or is he going to resign and then go there?

He would not have survived another year at UK, and took the best job he could find right now. He's a very good coach, and will make Minnesota a force in the Big Ten. He just wasn't the right man at a place like Kentucky. They are the Alabama of SEC Basketball and really college basketball on the whole. I personally think it was a great move on Tubby's part, just because of personality reasons and less pressure. Now UK can go get a coach who can handle the pressure of being at UK and the fans will be behind.

Tubby made the right choice. He knew that he would eventually be fired, and he took the struggling big-conference school over the already-powerhouse with high pressure and high expectations.

I think the writing was on the wall. It was almost like a marriage and neither side wanted a divorce because of the kids but couldn't stand eachother. This relationship was over soon after '99.

I don't think this is a bad move at all. I don't think he wants to jump to the NBA...I think he enjoys college coaching.
