Anyways, not concerned. I think we lost to someone awful in exhibition last year too. So before the Michigan fans start laughing at us.....this didn't count. Your upset did. Joke's still on you.

Okay before any of you even think of laughing at this, I was at the game, and know Izzo's comments.
Izzo shuffled lineups and didn't play our starters all that much. He also called a poor timeout down the stretch on a fastbreak to see if his team could handle the adversity. He does it because he wants to get everything working before the season. We could have kicked GVSU's ass if we wanted to. If it doesn't count, why risk getting someone important hurt? Why not call a horrible timeout to see if your team can handle it? Why not give your freshman playing time?That's what good coaches do. I give GVSU props for executing when they did. But there was a lot more to it than the score.
Plenty of teams lose exhibitions. Hell, our 2000 National Title team lost both to Nike Elite and the Globetrotters. Does it matter? Hell no.
Michigan lost to Kent State in a scrimmage as well. So they can shut up. They will be god awful.

I will say nothing, but it is kinda funny. Little ironic after all the crap we heard after losing to App. State. Sounds like an excuse, but I'm not lyin on this one. Tom said it all himself. He even said it on frickin ABC during the damn game. I know a lot of inside stuff anyway. My dad delivers to Izzo's house. He gets the scoop. |

I can understand the loss. We (Texas A&M) are ranked up there pretty good this year and we barely beat our first two D-II schools. I think each win was by 9 points. We were constantly switching players in and out trying to find the best combos and who worked together well so all of the starters were rarely on the floor together. There was also a rumor going around that for our first game Turgeon gave the opponents head coach his game plan to see how his players would react to a team that knew what was coming.
