Anyone have any information on the Terps hoops squad this year? Mizzou is matched up against them tonight in KC at the CBE Classic, and I was seeing how they match up with the Tigers.
I know Leak's a Terps bball fan, and I wish Terps was here too. He'd know a lot as well.

the Terps are 3-1...young squad led by Grevis Vasquez, James Gist, and Eric Hayes. They got blown out by UCLA who was without PG Darren Collison last night.
It'll be an even match against Mizzou but if Mizzou played with the same passion they played with last night against Michigan State, they'll easily beat the Terps.
And that game last night between Mizzou and the Spartans was a great one....I watched it and Mizzou put up a good effort and never went down without a fight

I was able to catch the last bit of the game on the Deuce last night, and I was excited to see that we didn't give up. Shows that we can hang with the best in the nation, and I couldn't say that last season.
MSU has extremely good guard play, and that was the difference. We have good guards, but not near the caliber of a Neitzel. If Maryland has young guards, I would think Mizzou has a decided advantage with all of the pressure we bring.
Is the game on the Deuce tonight? I hope it is.

I haven't seen us yet to be honest, but I know we're young and middle of the pack this earlier of the season. Gist is the star, and has alot of big play capability to turn a game around with a huge drunk or block at any moment. The guard play like Blaze said is very good with Hayes and Vazquez. Vazquez played great at the end of the year last year, and took more risks than Hayes with the ball and did more with it, but he also needs to work on his shooting. Hayes was a beter shooter, but both play with that pass first, short second mentally.
Like always we pressure the opponents on defense, and play physical. Just like always though, we're horrible at rebounding without a good center and a big man can take over for the opponent with physical play. I do think Osby can help our presence a bit down low this year though, he was a great rebounder off the bench last season.

Neitzel was just too clutch last nite for Michigan State. And I think tonights game is on ESPN2....they're going to show Michigan State/UCLA right after.

Good, but ugly win for Mizzou tonight. Scary thing is though our best overall player missed much of the game, and our best shooter was 1-7 from distance. Could have been much uglier for Maryland, but a good win nonetheless.
