Ok, lately, I've been having some difficulties with Photoshop (7.0). Before, to move a layer, I simply had to click anywhere on the layer to move it. So, if the new layer contained text, I could click anywhere outside the text to move it.
Now, if i create a layer with text, if I want to move to text, I have to click on the test--for instance, on an 's', instead of simply around the 's'. This makes things pretty difficult when I'm working with small text.
I don't remember changing any setting that might affect this, so my question is, does anyone know how I might be able to fix it? Or can point me to a place that would be better able to help?
I know it's not 100% on topic for the board, so I'll apologize for that right now. Thanks in advance.

I thought that kind of thing happens depending on the size of the text so the smaller the text, the more you have to be directly over the text you have to be to select it.
I kind of get what your saying but I really don't.. If you keep trying to explain I can try and help you out more

So are you saying that using the layers box, you can't switch the order of the layers?

No, it's nothing with the order of the layers.
The problem I have is moving the position of the layers in the image.
Example. I have text A on the image. I want to move text A to the right. Before, I could simply click anywhere on the image, and--as long as the text layer was the active layer--I could move it. Now, that's not the case. I have to click within the text--actually on the lines of the A--to move it.
Am I making it any more clear?

What tool are you using to move it? While you can move it with the text tool, it seems to work best if you use the actual move tool (don't know it's name, it's the + with arrows)

Well, I'm using the Move Tool, but it isn't limited to text. Images, too. If I have a square in the image, and I want to move it, I have to click on the square, instead of anywhere on the square's layer.
