IMO Priest Holmes and LaDanian Tomlinson are the top 2.

not in my opinion but in fact, holmes didnt have 1 rec. td last year. but he did have 74 catches in more of a passing offense. he didnt run for 1500 yards. lewis ran for more than 700 yards than him. to call holmes the #2 back in the and lewis the #3 is (in my Stephan A. Smith) ludacris.

I think we all j/ give it to Priest, because he's consistant. He has played superb for about 3 years running now. Jamal had a terrific year, but he isn't prooven to be that back at all times....yet. If LEwis' numbers r better than Priest again this year, look for him to take Homles' sport for #2 in the league.
Another RunningBack I thought that hasn't gotten the hype he should is the Deuce. Deuce McCalister is 1 hell of a back as well, and not so talked about. For those 4th and 5th spots(If we had a top 10) it'd be a great showdown between backs like Deuce, forgoten Ahman Green, Fred Taylor, Clinton Portis, Travis Henry, and the now injured Stephen Davis.
In all honesty, i'm hoping to see awesome years by Ex-Hookie Rb's Lee Suggs and Kevin Jones.
J/wonderng.... How many people think U of MINN. runningback Marion Barber 3 is going 2 be the first back to do sumthing in the NFl, come next years draft? I think he's got it.

I think the real question for Jamal Lewis is not if he can reach 2000 again this year, but if he'll even play the entire year or not. His trial for drug trafficing starts in November, and can't be rescheduled to the offseason (like Kobe Bryant's case was). That means he's missing at least 1-2 games, and if he gets jailtime, he might be out the rest of the season.
As for Barber III, I think I'll have to see him in action first (wasn't able to catch the Wisconsin-Minnesota game last year) before making a ruling. Being from Wisconsin, I'm more biased towards Anthony Davis. IMO, Davis can be just as good as Michael Bennett or Ron Dayne were at Wisconsin before him, if not better, when he stays healthy. As a Badger fan, his weak ankles tend to give me a little scare every time he touches the ball, but he's been able to keep his speed. There's a lot of good backs that'll be in the draft next year..Cedric Benson, Barber III, Davis..maybe even Reggie Bush, depending on his season this year.

I remember Jamal's mom almost as much as him. Everytime he broke for a good gain they showed her doing something funny.

I was thinking of bringing him up at one point in the thread, but didn't. He wasn't a bad back, too bad his career ended so fast.

That's what happens when you carry the ball 400+ times in a season, the knees just can't take it any more.........

If we're talking about Jamal Anderson like I think we are then yes, he did have over 400 attempts. In 1998, the year the Falcons went to the Super Bowl, Anderson rushed 410 times for 1846 yards and 14 TD.

His 410 attempt year was regular season only.
There have only been four backs in history to have over 400 attempts in a season Eddie George: 403 attempts Jamal Anderson: 410 attempts (NFL Record) Eric Dickerson: 404 attempts James Wilder: 407 attempts
No back has ever posted 400 attempts twice in their career, only two backs have had 375+ attempts twice or more in their careers (Ricky Williams (Twice), and Eric Dickerson (four times).

I simmed a season to see the RB issue after i picked up the game, and Jamal Lewis ran for 2306 or something like that, pretty ridiculous numbers.
