Alright, I got Madden and I was messing around, looking at all the new stuff they added, and I simulated a season so that I could see what the off-season looks like....
Jamal Lewis ran for 2,500+ yards, Tiki Barber and LT ran for 2,000+ yards also, and there were 4 people within 1,900 yards.
Anybody know if that was coincidental? or is that going to be a glitch I have 2 deal with every season?
It j/ takes from the reality. I mean if Portis runs for his ussual 1,500 yards he'll be a sub-par RB lol.
J/ wondering

Well I've played 1 game in my Lions dynasty so far and LT had 283 yards that week. If he keeps that up, damn.

That's sick....
I'll go through games in my Season, and it's 100-yard rusher after 100-yard rusher.
Eddie George even ran for 156 yards...
Another problem I noticed is that you cant really have real NFL type stuff. Because of the Battle Positions, Drew Henson is Dallas starter(luckily for me), Kitna is starting in Cinci(I dont mind), but Harrington got beat out from McMahon.
The ignorance of the computer throughout Franchise is the only thing I see them touching up to make this game any better than it already is.

i traded for kevon jones in my bucs dynasty and i ran for almost 2000 yard his rook season. all i know is that if tiki barber played half as good as he does in madden in real life the guy would be unstoppable this is the third year in a row where tiki tears it up in madden. the guy is so over rated hes not even the best barber in the family ronde is by far

My dynasty was pretty realistic...
I had Jamal rush for almost 2200, but other than that behind him were a few 1800, then 1600 down. In both rushing and receiving mine was realistic.

lewis will never run for over 2000 again. it was a fluke year with maybe one of the best o-lines ever. the guy so many freakin carries. He might be the most overrated back in the nfl

The whole o line is coming back and they dont really have a passing game, the fact that he stayed healthy for that long is amazing. you can expect more from him this year because he said he would be playing every game
I actually think he is one of the more underrated backs in the league. holmes is also good and tomlinson is a beast. i think that there will only be lews as a 2000 yard runner this year and he could get into the 2400-2600 range.

OK........let's talk about OSU's comment about Lewis being overrated.
Last year, the Ravens had who at QB? Chris Redman: 7-13 for 58 yards, no TD or INT Anthony Wright: 94-178 for 1199 yards, 9 TD, 8 INT Kyle Boller: 116-224 for 1260 yards, 7 TD, 9 INT
That's a team total of: 217-415 for 2517 yards, 16 TD, 17 INT. They only completed 52.3% of their passes at 6.1 yards an attempt. They rated dead last in the NFL in Passing Yards Per Game. So what did opposing defenses do, they stacked the line with 8-9 man fronts. So, what did Lewis do? He proceeded to produce 12 100-yard games, 3 of which were over 150 yards.
The ONLY reason he could even be considered overrated is because of the teams they played. If you go by a Good-Medium-Bad defense scale (Good meaning they rank in the top 10 in run defense, bad being the bottom 10, and medium being all that is in between), then the Ravens only faced 4 good defenses, while they faced 5 medium defense, and 7 bad defenses. The thing is that he did his job week in and week out no matter who the opponent was. For a player to say that he's going to break the rushing record against someone, and then do it is quite spectacular. Not only that, he went and demolished that very same team later in the season.
So...overrated? No, not by any means.

i am not saying lewis is over rated, cause he is not. But he did say he was going to break the season rushing record against the Steelers and the Defense stopped him. So that is one record he didn't break that he said he would. I expect him to come out again like last year, but this year they do have a decent backup qb in Kordell Stewart.

stewart doesn't suck. He had a terrible ending in Pgh. cause the team didn't want to play for him. In Chicago, the team just sucked. In Baltimore, he is going to have a break out year as a Backup. (maybe he will start against the Steelers and beat them.)

IM a huge Ravens fan, but LjSnUo, you were a little extreme on those stats...
Boller, first of all will not start every game, but I believe at the end of the season he will be starter. I am predicting us to once again shock the NFL and win another Superbowl again in Florida. I think Jamal will be good once again, but I only see him finishing with a 1300-1400 yard season, maybe up to 1600-1700. The Ravens finish 11-5, in a weak AFC North and make their way to becoming Superbowl Champs once again.
I know many say they have no offense, they have no chance. Well, in 2000 Trent Dilfer was playing with a young Travis Taylor, Quadry Ismail, Shannon Sharpe, Patrick Johnson, and Brandon Stokley. Now, I would say our offense is better than that years with young talent at WR, and HB Jamal Lewis is obviously better than he was as a rookie. The Defense may not be as good, but it is the best in the NFL IMO.
Ray Lewis, Peter Boulware, Chris McAlister, Ed Reed, Edgerton Hartwell, Terrell Suggs, Adalius Thomas, Gary Baxter, Kelly Gregg, Anthony Weaver, Marques Douglas, Will Demps, this sounds like an impressive squad to me...
Adalius Thomas is very underrated, he plays very well for our team and made Pro Bowl for special teams after he got injured for a good 3-4 weeks. Ed Hartwell is a great MLB, of course he is shadowed by Ray, but during Ray's injury Hartwell was one of the NFL's leading tacklers with 144 and last season just came short of 100. Suggs a great young talent, will be even better this season. Boulware, easily makes Pro Bowl. Gary Baxter, should play FS, but will probably rotate from that to with Will Demps at FS at times. Reed, will get 10 INTs, McAlister will continue to shut everyone down. The D-Line a little weak, but also young with Weaver. Gregg has talent and may have a big season and Douglas will do alright.
Basically what im saying after I just wrote half a season preview (sorry bout that) is that this time will win the Superbowl, we can beat New England to get there. I have been a Ravens fan all of my life, and watch every game. I couldntr possibly ever like another team, I love watching our Defense and love watching our offense get off the field, except for Jamal. I just had this feeling in 2000, and it has comeback to me. We are going to win it all in Jacksonville.

he had 402 carries last year. and gained 2000 yards. if you get 400 carries in a year you should get that many yards. he had one good year. he's vastly overrated. he wont get 1500 yards this year people will stack 8 guys in the box and stop him. they did have some productive recievers last year. in heap and taylor. plus boller will most likely stay healthy. so they will throw the ball more and for the kordell arguement. he does suck. his recievers make him. in pitt he had ward and burress, chicago he had well nobody. he's trash. he is lucky billick needs a backup

Actually check your stats OSU, Jamal had 387 carries last year, an average of 5.3 yards per carry. Most people on this site would agree that thats a hell of an average yards per carry. Which was second out of the NFL's top rushers, behind Clinton Portis. So, my friend even if some of the NFL's other HB's carried the ball so much, they wouldnt have had Jamal's numbers. Plus the fact stated earlier that every defense he played stacked the box. You cant even tell me they didnt I watched every game man and these D's were prepared for Jamal.
Especially the Browns, later in that season after they gave up the mark, Jamal destroyed them once again. he rushed for 205 yards the second time and averaged 9.5 yards a carry. During the regular season only four teams held Jamal under 100 yards. Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, Miami, San Francisco and the Titans held him under the mark in the playoffs. So you say overrated yet you cannot prove anything on Jamal except that maybe his receiving ability is lower than most NFL Hb's.

I can say that it would be one hell of an arguement, if asked who is the best RB in the NFL. In my opinion, Lewis has his share. Alot of people can say that if he carries the ball 400 times a year then you should gain 2000 yards, but if he carries that much for that many years then props to him for staying healthy and kicking butt.
In all honesty, I think Ladanian Tomlinson is the bect back in football. He has explosiveness, speed, hands. He is the complete back. Alot of people say he is on a bad team so he isn't as good as they say he is, but same deal with Sanders if I recall.
I'm just stating that you cant post a comment on how you think it's a given he will rush for 2000 if he's given the ball 400 times. I know alot of people who said that Jamal Anderson and Eddie George were great backs, they both had 400 carry years and not even close.
Jamal Lewis is a great back. He combines the speed, the size, and the field awarness to dominate the ground. Who cares if they dont have a passing game. His running is as effective as other passing games. If he cant find a way to juke you, spin around you, or run past you, he'll run you over.
Unless you see the 46 come into hand in the NFL, and Boller has a horrible year not being able 2 hit a Reciever in single coverage, then 2000 yards isn't out of the question. IMO, he deserves props. In no way is he overrated.
Ask Browns fans...

Well Takeitbak Phily runs the 46 ;D
Any way yea Jamal is a great back ill give him all the props, but he isnt the best back in the league, hes third. Behind 2 NFC West Backs, LT and Priest. LT n Priest can do it all, and score TD's, they show eveything in a running back, now some say "well jamal doesnt get it thrown to him" ya ever think its cuz his hands arent reliable enough. Jamal also has a severe case of fumblitis, and to be the "Best" you have to be able to hold on to the ball.
Just my 2 cents, i think that 3 years ago, Marshall (Faulk) was better than all of them. ;D
