Anyone have him on there team? I signed him as a free agent after my first season with the Panthers, as a 78 ovr, and now in my third he is a 86, and made the pro bowl in year 2...he catches EVERYTHING.

I have Robert Royal, and he's a nobody. I had top substitue him in for Walter Rasby on a play in the first game of the season, and HE catches everything. He's like 66 and jumped to a 74 in prgression.
I would expect Ben Troupe to be an All-Star, I mean he was Florida's best reciever since Ike Hilliard practicaly.

Troupe has been the man.

Of course he's the best. Look at the school he is coming from. ;D Troupe's gonna be great in real life, wish he was still with Florida though Carter, you know that comment bout Troupe being the best since Ike was wrong. Gaffney, Green, Taylor Jacobs, a ton more. Troupe's my boy, but dnt forget about everyone else.

Florida Recievers go on and on. The list is endless. I remember Ike Hilliard, Rediel Anthony, Jacquez Green, Jabar Gafney, and Taylor Jacobs. They are playmakers who do there job, but wern't the best in the buisness. Actually, nowhere close to the best. Ben Troupe is arguably a sleeper at Tight End. He made everything he got in Florida. His combination of speed, strength, size, adn agility make him a known pressance everytime he takes the field.
I honestly think he could have been twice what Shokcey and winslow were in Miami if he opted to go to Miami.
haha.... you say it as if I dont know the Florida players. comparing Troupe with Green and Gafney is like saying you can't forget Terrel Buckley in FSU when talking about Dion Sanders.

Not quite, because Troupe has yet to do anything in the NFL, I mean I think he will be good, but he has to get it done now, time for talking bout it is over. Also, neither of us mentioned Erron Kinney, who is actually starting at TE for the Titans. Remember, he also went to Florida too. Gaffney, should be good. Its not his fault he has to play for the Texans, with Andre Johnson and Corey Bradford.

IDK, I'm strong believer in the fact that there are the players whot ake space, there are recievers, and then there are good recievers. Gaffney isn't a good Reciever. Corey Bradford isn't that much of a good recievers, I would expect Gaffney tot ake is position, but that's me.
Bradford is good at times, but is inconsistant. As for Kinney, I've got nothing against him, but if Ihad a team I would pick Troupe over Kinney any day.

Wow you are missing a lot here. I love Ben he's one of my favorite Gators of all time, but he doesnt come close to Gaffney, Reche Caldwell, Anthongy, McGriff, Green, Jacobs, none of them. Troupe was gerat for us last season, but only started one season at TE for us, so it would make it hard for him to have been great, but he dod impress in his lone season as compltet starter.
Now as for the other Florida receivers. Gaffney was arguably one of the greatest sophmores to play college football, he made his presence known and broke a lot ot UF records, and only played two seasons for us. He also did that with Reche Caldwell and Taylor Jacobs sharing the balls too, not to mention Earnest Grahme and Robert Gillespie on the ground. I mean Jabar did all that with all the other weapons around him. Jabar is a great receiver, and in the NFL has all the potential in the world, but he just hasn't gotten his shot, nor have the Texans allowed him to grow into a great receiver gave him one season as a slot receiver then draftde Johnson and now Gaffney doesnt see many passes. Thats not his fault. He has great hands, some of the best for his age, you also have to remember he's only 23, so he has a long time left to develop. Remember McNair didnt play at all his rookie season and wasn't anything special for a few seasons. All im saying is give Gaffney (My Favorite Florida Gator of All time btw) some time and he could be better than most expect.

Troupe is good, but Kellen Winslow just catches everything when I play him. I signed Troupe once, but he wasn't consistent soo I traded him for a pick.

I acquired Troupe for dirt cheap in my franchise. Tennessee wasn't using him much, so I nabbed him. He has since been a pro bowl-caliber TE for me.

The difference between Troupe and Winslow is - Winslow is the rich 6th overall pick with an attitude (and since personalities now matter in Madden, that's big). Troupe is a second round pick, team guy, good player.
I was so mad when the Lions got Teddy Lehman 35th when Troupe was still up there....Casey FitzSimmons = not a starting TE. Stephen Alexander i guess is, but still...We could have just gone out and signed a guy like Warrick Holdman or Dhani Jones, who had Michigan roots. I disagreed with that pick but who cares, I guess....

i got Troupe in my fantasy draft, and when Shockey was hurt, he subbed as #1 TE and caught every pass except one thrown to him
he would've probably won rookie of the year if i didn't have Shockey
