What defensive playbook do you use? I use the 46 and have a great defense.

I stay with the one so I can learn it and know how my defense works with some of the plays.

I use 3-4, I have to because I dont like the others. My first Madden dynasty was with Baltimore, so ever since then I have used the 3-4 Defense. I'll use it with anyteam I use, usually I have to pick up a better #2 MLB.

I use the 3-4. I specifically don't use the 4-3, because the Offense has found a way to get around 7 defenders through the air. Adding that extra player to cover the pass is a boast. Not only that, but on the run, a lineman has a much harder job tracking a LineBakcer down rather than taking a defenive lineman. In the blitz, I have many different types and schemes. Everything about the 3-4 works for me.
I rather not use the 4-6 most of the time, because I dont have a good enough Strong Saftey to get back in time to cover when needed, and if you follow my Dynasty, that's what I need. Teams will pass all over me, but I have got the run on lock. The sliders are even on All-Madden, so I dont mess with them, but I might have 2 soon, because I cant stand holding a Runningback for 40 yards and having a Qb throw for 300.
Neways, that's a Good Question. What position do you guys start with on each play. I ussualy control a LineBacker. Depending on the Defensive play, it's a last second decision which 1 of the 4 I use.

I use the Balanced D playbook. I use the 4-6 vs. 2 wide, the nickel vs. 3 wide, dime vs. 4 wide, and quarter vs. 5 wide. I always have both safeties in deep zone and the rest in man. I control the FS and playmaker the SS to shift his deep zone to his side of the field.
I will often send all the linebackers on a blitz and bump n run the outside, this makes them throw it quick (which it may be picked off or caught for a small gain.) sack them or hit the QB and make him barely throw the ball.
This has been the best defense for myself. Has worked pretty well vs. both CPU and humans.

Did you ever ask Madden? He calls the stupidest plays. I dont understand. He will tell you to blitz 8 guys on 4th & long. I dont understand that.

lol whats worse is on 2nd down and your the defense and you ask madden he will give to the punt return defensive play lol

He does make some pretty dumb calls, but that's the best quality.Wait, No.... I like his Play-By-Play better.

It's sad, because the game makes him seem sto stupid, but in reality..... no, wait... He is. If you listen to his actual Play-By-Play you have a new respect for the game.

I run the cover two, but i use a lot of 4 lb packages to take advantage of the Pit Defense
