in my Madden dynasty, Chris McAllister is still available in Free Agency, and i wouldn't want to pass up this opportunity to get him, but it would also kill me in cap room to sign him
as of now, i've got around 18 mil in cap room, and when i see how much i'd have left, i'd have around 11 mil or so left in cap room
i already have the #1 defense two years running, but i have a horrible nickleback, and signing McAllister would move one of my starting corners over to nickelback, thus having 3 guys at 90+ overall, and an 85 overall guy at the other nickleback spot
so i was wondering, should i sign him?
positives: 1. He's 98 overall, and my D would be nearly unstoppable 2. My crappy nickleback would be replaced by a 90+ overall guy
negatives: 1. He costs a lot of money 2. I don't NEED him, but i would just like to have him to secure the defense

Personally, I need to know McAllister's age.

i know he's either late 20's, or 30 or 31,
i think i remember him being 8 years in the league when i went to try and sign him

I'm with Usmaman. I'm guessing you'd want to sign him long term, and who knows how long that will be at his age.

guys he is only like 26 or 27 (more likely 27) at the start of the game so he only 28 or 29 which is pretty much the prime of most players careers. However that said since you don't need him and I am a absolute backer of realism I say don't sign him cause then you will be too good.

You would be too good, although nothing is impossible through free agency signings (just look at the Ravens picking up Rolle in real life).

well i AM without a 2nd round pick in the upcoming 2008 Draft, cuz i traded it away to get Chris Leak, and i let go of some good receivers, but i picked up David Boston, only cuz i needed a receiver AND he was the best one left
and if Benson does terrible again this year, i'll have to pray that my D ends up #1 again
that's the only reason i wanted McAllister, as insurance that my D will make up for my potentially crappy offense

Ya save money for the draft if your team screws up and go's on a losing streak like my Bears you might get lucky,I did I drafted a 88 rated HB 82 rated WR 73 TE and 67 some posistion I was only to sign the 68,82 and 88 rated guy which wasnt lucky for me so save the money.

Save the cash, your defense is already solid so it isn't needed.
