The Dynasty Central Hall of Fame (DC-HOF) is a common place to recognize those worthy dynasties to be permanently remembered and displayed on the site. For now, the DC-HOF is solely designed to recognize dynasties, while people and or other ideas may be included in feature inductions.
The DC-HOF will have THREE induction cycles throughout the course of a year. These will allow for the Winter, Spring and Summer induction classes of the respective year. The induction process will begin on the 1st day of November, March and July for it’s respective induction class. The process will be one composed of a rigid structure and does not allow for much flexibility in order to maintain the integrity of the DC-HOF.
The DC-HOF will include the actions of the community and a SEVEN member committee to complete the process. For the first two weeks of the induction process (1st through 14th), the members of the DC community will be welcome to nominate any dynasty as they please in a specified DC-HOF thread. Only dynasties nominated in this 2 week period will be under consideration for that induction cycle. A complete list of nominated dynasties will be made available to the community.
A 1 week period will then be allowed for nominations to be narrowed down to a list of semifinalists. There is not a limit to the number of dynasties that can be nominated or for the number of semifinalists. The semifinalists will then be announced on the 21st day of the month. The semifinalists will then be in the hands of the committee and discussed individually at depth. The semifinalists will be narrowed down to 8 finalists at most. A list of finalists will then be announced on the 5th day of December, April and August.
The finalists will then also be discussed individually leading up to the final vote of induction. The percentage of votes to be accepted naturally will be very high, as we want to ensure only the top notch dynasties are actually inducted. There may be a maximum of 5 dynasties inducted in each cycle. This naturally will make the first few cycles very competitive. Any dynasty that is a finalist will automatically be entered in as a semifinalist for the next cycle. The Hall of Fame induction class is scheduled to be announced on 15th of December, April and August.
All dates are tentative and may be changed due to unforeseen circumstances, but I personally plan to see to it that the dates hold true.
This process may come across as being slow. There are multiple reasons for this. One, it is necessary to make sure that time is taken to allow only those truly deserving into the DC-HOF. Also, there is respect given to those on the committee with an allowance of time to get things accomplished. The periods provided allow for things that may arise, etc.
Finally, and probably most importantly, I ask you to realize the caliber of competition that will exist for these first few inductions. You are going up against year’s worth of dynasties. The process that has been agreed upon is one designed to remove the politics and any personal conflicts that may arise. Simply realize, as in the hall Hall of Fames, there may be deserving dynasties not yet in, or there may be those that are going to be borderline and be up or induction on multiple occasions. Because of the system, favoritism will not come into play, and those dynasties that are great will be carefully inspected with all of those others that equally deserve.
***For those who the redesign effected your pages, I would recommend making an attempt (if possible) to clean up any errors if your dynasty is nominated. I realize not all of your stuff is an easy fix, and this will not be directly counted against you if unable to corrected, but not all dynasties can be discussed based SOLELY upon memory. Hopefully the committee will be able to refer back to the pages themselves if still visible. Once again, fixed pages are not a necessity but it won’t hurt for a committee member which might not 100% familiar with your site.
We hope the process will be exciting to the community as you will be anxiously anticipating the announcement dates as they near. I also hope personally that this will yield an even stronger focus on creating awesome dynasties in an effort to get your own name enshrined in the DC-HOF.
