It was on ESPNEWS. The asking price is a second-round pick.
Sounds like a chance worth taking to me for a 2nd rounder. Culpepper's a great QB when his knee's not shredded.
*Note: Only teams with no bodies of water that can have boat cruises held on them near their home city should inquire about Culpepper's availability.*

Culpepper's a bum without a HOF WR or two. Just a fair warning for the Jets.

I bet the Packers would trade Brett Favre to the Eagles for a second round pick. That way the Packers would have 40 interceptions less and the Eagles would be undefeated. It's a win-win situation.

So they're saying they would rather have Brad Johnson over Culpepper? That's like saying you would rather have a hamburger over a filet mignon.

Rumours have it Baltimore are getting rid of Ray or Jamal Lewis for Daunte Culpepper, it would be really cool to see Daunte in a Ravens uniform and Ray Ray in the real purple, although if the Ravens just drafted another inside LB or use Dan Cody, that would probably be a great deal for them considering Ray Ray's lost his form and, they were only asking for a 2nd rounder like the Vikes'

So they're saying they would rather have Brad Johnson over Culpepper? That's like saying you would rather have a hamburger over a filet mignon. Actually, it's more like saying you'd rather have a hamburger over the ground up intestines. Culpepper's knee is shot, so now not only does he have too small of hands to hold onto the ball when he's hit, he's now a statue in the pocket waiting to get hit. Add in the fact that he can't read a blitz to save his life (we found that out last season) and his passing skills were made out to look better than they really are thanks to the likes of Randy Moss, and it adds up to the Viqueens asking a 2nd round pick for him being absolutely insane. No one even knows if Culpepper is going to play next season - his knee was torn up that badly. That's why a team giving up a second round pick - a pick that produces many many quality players that contribute in their first year - is insane. The only reason they're asking for that kind of pick is because they'd still have a chance at someone like Brodie Croyle in the second round.

Rumor has it that Jamal Lewis for Daunte Culpepper would be the trade. If so, im very excited. Anythings better than Kyle Boller, and its not like we dont have any targets with both Derrick Mason and Mark Clayton at wideout, plus Todd Heap at tight end.
If we do trade Ray, who has been reported to wanting to be trade, but by local newspapers and not the team, I would still be acceptable about this trade.
Ray hasnt been very healthy the past three years, and although he is still a great linebacker we finished 5th in total defense without him and without other starters.
Bart Scott, Tommy Polley (if re-signed), and Adalius Thomas worked really well together last season. This trade talk has gotten me very excited to say the least.

John Clayton said earlier that the Raiders, Ravens, and I believe the Dolphins were the frontrunners. He mentioned that the Jets would be interested, but don't have the cap room to engineer a deal.

but don't have the cap room to engineer a deal. He also said neither do the Raiders. So it looks like a two horse race.

The problem is, these rumors are coming from sources unknown to know the exact situation. Just like the Ray Lewis wanting to be traded situation we have, because he has never personally went to the team and asked to be traded, and I doubt he would considering he loves Baltimore and fellow defensive teammate Ed Reed is a good friend of his.
I dont know though, I really hope we can pull in Culpepper for a deal with Jamal Lewis, considering I would rather have Chester Taylor at runningback anyway.
What I dont understand, doesnt Minnesota have enough runningbacks? Thats where I dont think our deal makes much sense.

Onterrio Smith is Whizzinator Man, Mewelde Moore is OK, and Michael Bennett has fallen out of favor. They still don't have a long term solution at HB. Is Lewis it? I don't think so, but oh well.

Bennett and Moe Williams are FA's, if I'm not mistaken. Neither were really popular with the Vikings coaching staff. I'd be willing to bet Smith will be let go as part of their "clearing the name" of the franchise. Getting rid of Culpepper would also be a step in that direction.
As far as Culpepper to the Ravens goes, that may be the best scenario for him. Boller played well enough at the end of the year that I think the team (maybe not the fans) would be comfortable with him starting the first part of the season while Daunte's knee heals completely.

As for the fans, ravens fans ill speak on their behalf. I do not want Boller starting, even if its for just a game. He's terrible, and even worse on the road.

I just don't think Boller has what it takes to be a good NFL quarterback Culpepper could turn Baltimore into a Super Bowl contender for next year.

Now rhyme it, Shakespeare. That gives me an idea for NFL Films' title for the Vikings 2005 Yearbook: "Fair is foul and foul is fair."

Just for this post, I'll use his rhyme pattern Although the iambs do not have to rhyme I wonder if you've ever had to learn That you were wrong, but you're not all the time. These rhymes sure suck, I'm sure going nowhere I'll stop now, this is gay to be quite fair.
