What has happened to him I was reading an NFL Combine story and he wasn't he even mentioned. I thought he was pretty dominant in college from what I've seen of him. Can anyone fill me in on his status?

Marcedes Lewis had a mediocre Senior season and an injury to boot! His numbers were huge his Sophomore years and carried over to his Junior campaign some. His combine numbers were good, but Vernon Daivs blocked out everyone with his dominance. He is not much of a blocking tightend, and is really a wideout trapped in a tightend body. He is a big target with sufficent hands and ran a mid 4.7 40 time; which for a tightend, is ok... he is personlly the 3rd best tightend this year: 1. Vernon Davis 2. Leonard Pope 3. Marcedes Lewis
He really did disappear, but will go to a team that is willing to let a player grow because he could be a great player.

Your right with Vernon Davis being number one, but I think it depends on the team's playing style who'll go second. If they want a receiving threat they'll go for Lewis, and if they want a blocker, they'll go for Pope. I'm not saying Pope can't catch, I'm just saying Lewis is superior in the catching department

And if you want to shock the world, you go Tony Scheffler out of Western Michigan...

No, you go Tim Massiqoui out of Michigan Actually, a good TE would be Jeff King from Va Tech, he could be a decent backup some where. Anthony Fasano out of Notre Dame is another solid NFL backup type IMO. You are right about Tony Scheffler though, he could be a good pick in the 5th or 6th round

Lewis is far from being a good blocker for a tight end, but he's not fast enough to be converted to a WR. He did show off great hands, but in the block drill at the combine it was noted that he got upright too quick instead of driving forward. Maybe his blocking is something that can be improved upon, but I don't think Lewis will get picked before the third round.
