Apparantly, according to PTI, Mora Jr. is examining college offenses like Texas, WVU, and Missouri who have players with similar talents to Vick that are effective. He looks like he will be using alot of the "Zone Read" type offense that Vince Young used with the Longhorns.
I always thought it was just a matter of time before Mora scrapped the West Coast O for an Option/Zone Read - based offense cause to be honest vick was an awful West Coast QB. What do you guys think about this turn of events.

I don't think you can run an offense like that in the pros - defenses are way too fast

It is about time. Vick had a lot of trouble with the West Coast offense. He might do good in a system like Texas', but will that work very well in the NFL.

It will prob work alot better than their current offense which was what like last in the league in passing. Great in rushing but awful in passing.
You know Mora should just go all the way and implement the Wishbone/Flexbone offense. That would catch defense off guard with Vick option the ball off everywhere and TJ f'n Duckett pounding up the middle.

Mora knows he has talent with Vick, but he was on the path to ruining him. He has now veered of that path... a little.

Vick's garbage..always has been. It's not going to change using a college offense and defenses, he's still going to suck. Plain and simple.

The 'read zone' offense you are describing might work for a bit but after some time and some video replays of games, teams will figure it out and stop them like every year Vick has been a pro (ouch) |2uff

They should just stop throwing all together, have all 10 players block and let Vick outrun the last guy.

It's worth a shot...at least build in the option for Vick to run on every play. It's true that defenses are too fast in the NFL to run a true option system, but maybe they can come up with some kind of blocking scheme that will give Vick enough time to get into the open. He's not going to be an accurate passer, so the WC offense was a horrible fit...you need to be almost perfect in your pass placement in that offense.

I've always liked to see what will happen if a team went completely over to the option. I truely believe that it could work, as preparing to play against an option team would be an entirely different game. And think, has there ever been an option attack combining Vick, Duckett, Dunn, all at once.
