I cant see it either. I'd never even heard of this guy till a day ago. Do the Texans want to do horrible every year? Sure he's a good player, but defensive players cant alter a games outcome nearly as much as a greaat running back

He's not signed, they have agreed in principle, like when teams get a free agent hooked up before the it actually starts.

....dear god if the Texans sign this, I swear they want to run the team into the ground. I can give a damn about a DE, the thing that plauged the Texans so much was offense. If anything - HELP THE OFFENSE!
As a resident of Houston, I herby refuse to watch any Texans game this year or next if they don't draft Reggie Bush. I swear it before God.

Wow. They're going to regret this in a major way.

Fans want Bush because offense and scoring touchdowns is flashy, but besides the O-Line they are set. The defense is a weakness and they took the #1 rated defensive prospect.
Besides with Bush not going first the draft becomes more interesting. Bush now looks to go third or fourth, although TEN and NYJ are looking for QBs. NO will not take Bush, if they do it is somewhat of a wasted pick. TEN, however, doesn't improve by much if they take Bush because QB is needed. NYJ looks the most promising as Martin is aging, but as one teammate said they have an "egg" at QB, so they have a decision to make. The Williams signing changes the way the Top 10 will fall.

prob not as the saints are set with Deuce, but they could take him as insurance in case of injury or just because of his raw talent

I still say through the arms race that the Texans could have made some defensive adjustments through the draft on D, but not drafting a guy at #1 that could be the CORNERSTONE of the franchise or even the face of the NFL for that matter is plain dumb.

The Texans need so much help though, this guy isnt gonna anchor a defense that wins a championship. They should gone with Bush. But now, Saints - dont need a RB, Titans and Jets are looking for a QB, Packers - have Ahman Green, although he is getting old. Could Bush and Smith reunite in SF???

Sure he's a good player, but defensive players cant alter a games outcome nearly as much as a greaat running back You must've been living under a rock, since Mario Williams was a beast at NC State. He's been getting comparisons to Julius Peppers for the past year. The Texans have already improved their offense by adding a couple more targets for David Carr like Eric Moulds and got a very good center in Jim Flanagan, and they can get more weapons in the later rounds as well. A very good column by Michael Smith on ESPN.com the other day pointed out that in the past 20 Super Bowl winners, only 4 had a running back that they drafted in the first round. Bush is a dynamic player, but in the NFL there's a chance that he won't be as dynamic as he was in college.

as much college football I watched this season, I hadn't heard jack about Mario Williams until Mel Kiper started hyping this kid around the end of the year.
