Has anyone read the special report from the Buffalos website that is posted on the NFL.com homepage at all? I thought it was quite intresting. If you havent, i'll try to outline for you...
50 years ago Paul "Bear" Bryant and severeal of the most successful coaches on the college level got together and held a coaches clinic with nearly 2,000 coaches in attendence. There were several events held, and by the time they got to the final event on the second day, there were only five coaches left in the building.
Bear Bryant thought so highly of them that he brought them back to his hotel and talked to them on his own. He orderd them food and helped them out. All Highschool coaches at the time... The Five Men were...
- Marv Levy (4 SB appearances)
- Mike White (Assistant during Redskins SB's)
- Bobby Ross (SB & NC appearance)
- Dick Vermiel (SB Champioship)
- Bill Walsh (3 superbowl championships)
I'd say that coaches clinic really worked out to there benefit.
