Well, short term, I think Seattle did. Down the road, New England might end up with a better deal. 2 first round picks for them will be good. Thiers might be fairly high now that Tom Brady has a lot less to throw to.

I love this trade to be honest (as poor as we looked Sunday).
Deion Branch has never been to a Pro Bowl, had an 1,000 yard season (despite the Pats gaining nearly 75% of their yards in the air last year), or had more than 5 touchdowns in a season. We get a first round pick for that?!! We got Corey Dillon (albeit a little later in his career, but much more proven for a 2nd). Just because the Seahawks will pay him "Reggie Wayne" money, in no way means he is worth it.
Good job.

I agree with Cerrano here. New England just turned a mess of a situation into a good one. Does their receivers corp look very good now? No, but thats not to say it wont in the future. Chad Jackson should become a great target for Brady in the future, Troy Brown's getting older but now you can possibly use one of your 1st rounders to get a WR in an upcoming draft that should have guys like Calvin Johnson, Dwayne Jarrett, and Jeff Samardzija.
Plus, although he was a Superbowl MVP do pay attention to the stats just given by Cerrano. Will he total some of them numbers in the future, probably. But this deal by far is in favor of NE than SEA.
Not to mention, the Seahawks do have talented receivers in Darrell Jackson, Nate Burleson, Bobby Engram, and D.J. Hackett (someone Seattle has made noticeable they like).

Seattle has a slew of Receivers so adding Deion Branch might not be as brilliant as you think. A first round pick might make the world of a difference when it comes down to it for Seattle. Sure we know it'll be a late pick, but I dont think Deions value in there is worth what they would get next year.
New England on the other hand wasn't going to get Branch at all this season, so they did a wonderful job getting what they did for him. With Laurence Maroney and Chad Jackons being there picks this year, that's scary to think they have two first round picks next year.
I side with New England..... does't make since to me that Seattle pays the price to grab another wideout.
