I like Cutler and I've always kind of liked Denver (well I guess their uniforms anyways) since Elway left, so I wish them well. I've always felt bad for Plummer but I guess he had his one year and that was that...

Judging by his play so far, there's no reason to bash Young at this point...

If Leinart is struggling, I dont see how Cutler will do much better.

If Leinart is struggling, I dont see how Cutler will do much better. Cutler did have a better pre-season than Leinart. Just sayin... and DB, are you just mad because your excellent front office didn't take him?

I actually think Jay Cutler may be able to do something in the offense. I am a believer!

Leinart may be struggling, but so would any other quarterback behind that line.

More than Plummer at least. Not expecting him to be golden...

It's not all Leinhart's fault that he has no running game and one of the worst offensive lines in the game. And 405 passing yards yesterday, even though it was in 51 attempts with 2 interceptions is still pretty impressive seeing how he's not only a rookie but in the terrible situation he's in...

I'm sorry, but I've thought he was gonna be a bust since well before the draft. I don't say Leinart blows....our excellent front office didn't take him.

If Cutler can do what he did his senior year with Vanderbilt, then I definetly think he has some potential. Guess we'll see how much.

I've always felt bad for Plummer but I guess he had his one year and that was that... I think their uniforms are ass-ugly, but that's beside the point... As for Cutler, this isn't the right move, although it has it's advantages. The one thing that Cutler brings is the ability to throw downfield. As much as I hate Shanahan, he's an offensive genius, and Plummer's side-to-side, bootleg style really limits what he (Shanahan) can do, or wants to do. Shanahan's offense calls for drop-back throws. Plummer is fifty times better throwing on the run. What really doesn't make sense to me though is the timing of the move. Is Denver packing it in? At 7-4, they have no reason to. They are sitting tied for second in the AFC West with KC and if the season ended today would be going to the playoffs as a wildcard as would KC. But isn't changing quarterbacks what a team does when they are out of it? Is Shanahan telling us he's throwing in the towel and playing for next season? I just don't get them sometimes.

I think Cutler will be a good quarterback in the future, but I agree with Bearcat here. I know you've lost two straight (to KC, SD both good teams) but your 7-4 and in the playoff hunt. Why would you change quarterbacks?
Now you have no leadership at quarterback, none of those connections between the QB and receivers you had because there was no time to establish it, and most of all a rookie quarterback with a playoff caliber team in his hands.
Meaning, if he screws up its his fault. So your putting all this pressure to end a losing streak and make the playoffs in one of the toughest divisions (if not toughest) in the NFL on a rookie quarterback.
Your basically letting everyone know with this move your not going to a superbowl, because even if they do make playoffs they wont be going too far with a rookie quarterback.

In the long run, Cutler may do better than Plummer, but I highly doubt he steps in and the offense won't miss a beat.
The real problem with this team is the running game. I know they are ranked highly, but their running game has looked weak all year. Very hit or miss. I guess you can't just plug in anyone to their system. Mike Bell is a nice story, Nash sucks, and Tatum is never going to be more than a change of pace back.

Boy, he sure looked good tonight, didn't he?
Shanahan really goofed up on this one. Maybe not in the long run, but this might cost him the playoffs.
And thank you, Cerrano, for saying Nash sucks. He's a former Mizzou Tiger, but he's a prick and wasn't worth much anyways.
