Run defense is what happened. The same thing that always keeps them from being in the superbowl every year. I just want to know who was the genious that decided to make Robert Mathis a starter on the D-Line to give them a 245 lb D-Lineman to add on to one of the lightest lines already. They wonder why they cant stop the run?

When a team has no defense, it will kill them eventually. I'm so glad to see this happens, it's about damn time someone showed the Colts that defense wins championships. I hate Indy.
I love how Peyton's beating the consummate teammate here. "I can only play one side of the ball!" he says.

The Colts just continue to be told - and not listen to - the mantra that defense wins championships.

I don't see why everyone hates the colts, probably the same reason people hate the Patriots and hated the Rams. Granted, if there team consistently won 12 games and made the playoffs they'd have no problem.... another team does it and it's frowned upon.
Rather than give them props for being one of the few consistent teams in football(Up to these past 3 games), people hate them because they win.... and win impressivly for the most part.
Tony Dungy joined the Colts when they had no known defensive starter. He drafted Mike Doss, Bob Sanders, Cato June, Gary Brackett, Dwight Freeny, Jason David and Marlin Jackson. A year ago, people had this defense in the Top 5. So what if they have an off year. Had David Thorton, Marcus Washington and Mike Peterson not left because the Colts had been in Cap problem since jim Mora Sr. started.... they'd be rediculous.
If I am correct... Tony Dungy built the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he made Monte Kiffin a good defensive coach after several poor seasons every place he coached. He drafted, signed, and molded some amazing players and had the best Defense 5 out of 6 years(Baltimores SB run). His team, not Grudens, won the Superbowl and everyone praised "Defense Wins Championships"..
So your ignorant if you think the Colts dont beleive Defense wins championships... I just think it's a dumb topic lol.

I don't mind the Colts but when Ron Dayne is rushing for over 100 yards you know there's a problem. It's freaking Ron Dayne, he's not supposed to do that. My Texans might actually put together a strong season next year with Davis back and a new addition in the draft. Maybe, just maybe a .500 record!
Go Texans.

They're getting better.... It took a while, but they couldn't do it with Capers... It was time for change, good go with Kubiak. I'm curious to see who they draft.

Yea, me too. If only the Texans had Reggie Bush?!?! Hmmmm, it makes me feel good when I think about the possibilities of Bush but then I realize how dumb the Texans are and now we've got Mario, still good, but he's no Reggie Bush.
I think the Texans should either go for an o-lineman or another wide receiver to complement Andre Johnson. Maybe Calvin Johnson or Dwayne Jarrett. Possibly even Jeff Smasdfjklafdsa

Jeff Smardizja? isn't the greatest WR. He's a college mold Wide Receiver. Calvin Johnson would be amazing. I still think they could use a Top of the Line defensive player. There is no real BIG time defensive star out there, but there are alot of player they can get in the mid rounds to help...
Daymeion Hughes would be a good 1st or 2nd rounder...
Buster Davis would make an amzing MLB in the 3rd or 4th round...

Jeff Samardzija intends to try and play both professional baseball and football, which will hurt his draft stock in a big way. Even without this, he'd be a low first-round pick at most.

I agree, but Demeco (sp) Rians is stepping up. He could be a great player in the future. I think he leads the team in tackles. The defesive run game is solid, the secondary is just weak in the pass. Dunta Robinson is a good corner, so I think either a corner or a safety would be good for D.

If you're gonna start Freeney and Mathis, that's a dynamic pass rush, but you better have two huge run stoppers up the middle, and give them a linebacker for help.

I agree Terps, and I know they got Corey Simon last year and got Anthony McFarland during this season. People dont realize how important defensive lineman are sometimes. Without a big body in that middle your linebackers are going to have one hell of a tough time stopping the run, and without a pass rusher on the outside QBs will be taking 5 step drops with all day picking you apart.
To Ry, DeMeco Ryans has actually been leading the NFL itself in tackles not just the Texans. I may be wrong about this, but I think this year is the last on Domanick Davis' contract. Meaning, he might not be in Houston after this season.

Possibly even Jeff Smasdfjklafdsa I think your Texans team should draft Joe Thomas, that offensive tackle from Wisconsin (I believe.) My Jags are in need of an upgrade at Linebacker. I hope against hope that we get Paul Posluzny.

Or Patrick Willis.
Right now, the Bengals need to find a good corner to beef up the NFL's worst pass defense.

For the Falcons, it a matter of a wide reciever. Alge Crumpler is still the only consistant reliable target for Vick. Roddy White and Michael Jenkins (both first rounders) have not yet shown they can catch the ball 5/6 times for 80-100 yards week in and week out, and dropped passes have just made Vick shy away from them at some points. Johnson, Jarrett, and Smardjza are all first rounders this year but baring a trade, it looks as if 2 (Johnson and Jarrett) if not all three will be gone before pick 15-20. If Smardjza is still on the board for Atlanta, then i will be extacted if the Falcons take him. But wide out is not a nessicity as i believe we shouldnt give up on jenkins or white just yet. (Ashley Lelie is another WR on the roster, but he is a unrestricted free agent ater this year.) If no wideout is needed or not avaliable then i think we should look to the defensive side of the football (as the run offense is superb). The defense has improved mightly this year after the addition of Lawyer Milloy. Getting John Abraham and Ed Hartwell back next year will also be a boost. But drafting a LB/OLB such as Polzunsky would be a bad choice, as Keith Brooking is aging and Hartwell as spent the majority of two seasons in Atlanta on the shelf.

The Bengals already drafted Jonathan Joseph last year. I think he's going to turn into a decent corner. I would go on the route of signing a free agent if you want to add to that core, but of course you did watch guys like Charles Woodson, and Ty Law go to other teams in free agency this year.
