Does anyone have advice for stopping the run? I always seem to give up huge run plays and opponent's backs seem to rack up 150 - 190 yards a game. Any pointers?

Don't blitz a lot.
I've learned that if you blitz, the offense will run away from the blitz 75% of the time. Play a lot of Cover 2, Cover 3, and zones, and keep everything in front of you. Eventually, you will force turnovers because they will get frustrated of short gains, and they gamble, and, you will get an interception.

well if u control linebacker, then dont go to the ball, stay behind ur d-line and straf to where the runner is going, or too any glaring holes, then simply tackles.
if you play safety then on toss u have to take a good angle on the football, but if its a run up then middle then simply stay back and be the last man to make the tackle.

Play as the safety.... even if your team misses every tackle, your open enough to make just about any play...
The man under 2 deep and cover 2 are good. You'll get burnt in the Cover 2 most likely though

If you do "commit", your other defenders actually pay attention and at least try for a tackle. However, play action really screws you if they do fly patterns...
