Colts absolutely dominated on offense in terms of plays run and time of possession.

Did anyone else think Peyton Manning did not deserve MVP? He did good, yes, but I think I would have given it to Bob Sanders or Dominic Rhodes first.

I think Manning could have gone 0-30 and threw five picks and still would have gotten the MVP, provided the Colts still won. Should he have not gotten it? Maybe, but you knew this day was all about Peyton.

It was Maddens game to win or lose, which I thought was stupid, so with the added pressure.... fans voted him regardless if they won.
Joseph Addai did alot more than Rhodes did in the first half, running over Brian Urlacher and the Bears defense and quietly recording 10 receptions. Bob Sanders fumbleforce/interception or Addais running should have won MVP
I dont mind though.... people will still bring those guys up when talking, not just madden. And Grossman... wont even be mentioned. Rich Gannon is a great QB and threw 5 INT's in the SB, Ben Roethlisberger was horrible and became an icon. The winning QB plays well, the losing QB doesn't.
First time I can say "Superbowl champion Indianapolis Colts"

I said it after the Bears beat the Giants (I think), there was no way the Bears could be the Patriots (I was right) or the Colts, and man was I ever right. It was a good game no doubt and I enjoyed it. The turnovers between both teams with the fumbling made it entertaining but the Colts were just too good on both sides of the ball for the Bears. The fact the Bears couldn't hold Joseph Addai or Dominic Rhodes is what really surprises me; Sexy Rexy's poor play just sealed the enjoyable night for me.

GG Colts.
Played like a team who deserved it, while we didn't. They earned it, atleast I got to cheer for my team in the SuperBowl, it waqs an experiance I wont forget.
BTW: I still love Rexy!

I have to say that I don't still love Rex.
Most quarterbacks will progress in terms of their jittery feet. Rex went through five months of football this year and he was still the same from beginning to end. You can't fix the jitters....and the fact that he showed no progress is what drives me insane.
The other player that I really could care less for is Chris Harris. The boy can't play safety. I would rather see him at linebacker. He'll knock your brains out, but if you running a go route, just tell him that Michael Jackson is "over there" and he'll go that way and leave you wide open. I loved seeing Reggie Wayne so wide open................................

The NFC just isn't as good as the AFC.... 8 of the last 10 Super Bowls have gone to the AFC representative

I too found myself thinking "Does Manning really deserve MVP?" But I also thought "there truly wasn't a standout guy that made you think that he was in control of this game." So why not give it to Manning. He had a decent day and so did most everyone else, making this a true team effort.

The only downside of this game--
The first question that will be asked at the start of next season will be:
"Will this be the year that Eli wins it all?"
Ugh. I don't have anything against Eli or the Giants, but you know that's what ESPN is going to do. Hell, they might have asked that already.

How many tries did it take Elway to win a Superbowl?
But in reality the truth remains, Rex is the best Quarterback we haved had in Chicago in ages, name one in the past 20 years thats is any better than him. Just look at his career record, yeah he didn't win a Superbowl, but I whole heartedly believe he can.
You look at the Bears 3 seasons ago, when Lovie Smith took over, no one could have seen a Superbowl birth for the Bears in the future, in the late strech of the season it was the offense making the plays to win games.
Either way our defense did nothing to help the offense at all, the Colts made us look like a JV High School Football team. I think blaming the whole game on Rex is uncalled for, he has his share of blame, but definately not all of it.

No no no, I'm not doing that but what I'm saying is that you have a guy who has won almost 15 more games than he has lost in his young career, yes he was on the losing side of the Superbowl, and did little to help his team. But you compare that to how Elway played in his first THREE Superbowls, 2 Touchdowns, 6 Picks, and 45% completion percentage, I think it's unfair to jump on Rex, because the Broncos knew that Elway gave them the best chance to win, the same way Chicago should know the same.

To be honest, Chicago couldn't get the running game going. They had that one big run by Thomas and that was it. In the first half, Grossman actually played halfway well. Threw a touchdown, and was pretty accurate. Of course, since they couldn't man up and run the football, they made Rex do too much. Hence why the late two interceptions happened, well that and the Colts played great defense.
I think Chicago would be a great team if they could get a better quarterback in there. Yes Grossman may be the best on the team and one of the best in Chicago for the last 10 years or so. When you are comparing crap to crap, crap's going to be the best even though it's crap.

I'd like to blieve a Quarterback who threw 23 touchdowns and passed for 3,200 yards, despite 20 picks in the regular season is a few levels above crap.
Jonathan Quinn, Craig Krenzel, Kordell Stewart, Chris Chandler, Moses Moreno, Henry Burris, and Shane Matthews, now that is crap, please don't put Rex on the same level.

Jon Kitna threw 21 touchdowns and passed for 4,200 yards, despite 22 picks in the regular season. Almost identical to Rex, except for MORE yards. Don't try to tell me Jon Kitna ISN'T crap.

DB, Mike Martz.
Anyways just throwng stats out, I just have this gut feeling, I can't explain it really I just really think he can be a great quarterback. If he is given time, like all great Quarterbacks were.
Maybe it's just because I've meet him and he is such an outstanding person to just sit and talk to for 2 minutes, I don't know..
I just really think the expections by the fans to be rewarded right away in the NFL is ridiculous.

Again, my problem is that the errors he makes aren't correctable.
He freaks out...that isn't coachable. You can correct throwing off the backfoot, but when it's associated with losing your cool at the drop of a hat, that can't be corrected.
You're right...our QB's have been complete and utter garbage, but seriously look at who we have brought in. We have brought in everybody else's trash....Stewart, Quinn, Matthews.....come on.
A solid pick by a guy who knows how to evaluate talent (Angelo) and groom that player. I want a guy who can play somewhat consistently. For a QB to have the type of games that he had multiple times throughout the season isn't acceptable.
Grossman had the best season statistically since Erik Kramer, but still it wasn't a good season.
Chicago fans see Grossman's gaudy numbers and think it's ok because of what we have had to endure over the past 20 years, but that's not reality.
DB got it right...Kitna had a great season yardage wise, but when you throw more interceptions than touchdowns, that's not ok.
If by some miracle he can calm down (perhaps drink prior to a game) then he can be great, but that has to come from God or somewhere close to God for those nerves to become unrattled. Coaching doesn't rid anyone of that.
