I think this is rediculous. Reggie Bush has been fined after a week of alot of crap he's had to put up with for doing a flip and dancing in the endzone. What's wrong with that?
You know how many guys pull the ball back and look at players when they score. It's football. Let the kid play. He's not pulling out a Cellphone or mooning the crowd, hes dancing.
The Defense can make a sack and taunt the quarterback, can get in a WR's face, and anything they desire after a tackle. He looks back, does a flip and then dances.
Gets fined?
The NFL and its fans search for reasons to talk about something other than the superbowl and this is what they found.
You opinion?

Yes, but he should not be fined.
The fact that he fired up the Bears D by taunting them and dancing in their faces, costing his team a trip to the Super Bowl and a chance at that big bonus is enough.

There's a difference between doing a dance and waving your finger at a singled out player. Players get in each others' faces all the time. Even Shawn Merriman doesn't jump into the opposing teams face, he does his little dance away from everyone, for the fans.
I don't get why anyone should be up in arms about a little punk like Reggie Bush losing $5K. The money is going to charity and that is perfectly fine by me.

Reggie Bush is as far from a punk as you can be. The kid is a rookie and scored in a playoff game. How excited would you be. He is the youth in our team, and our fans revolve around him...

I really respect Goodell for this. He is early in his career as a commisioner and he has to prove what he is about. I think Reggie Bush deserved a fine. If it was a ten year veteran, I think you let it go. The reason why I think Reggie deserved the fine was because he is young. He needs to learn that he can't go around taunting guys like that. It is very disrespectful to guys who have paid their dues in the league. Also, I don't think a deliberate taunt belongs in sports. It is one thing to celebrate, but to call out an individual the way Reggie did, that crosses the line. I can say that when I play sports, I don't like to call out any individual, it just makes me come off as an ass and almost puts an 'x' on your chest.

Who cares if he is the youth of the Saints? Who cares if he is a rookie who scored in the playoffs? I don't care if he does his little girly dance in the endzone. Fact is, he waved his finger at Brian Urlacher while his team was down. That's taunting. Taunting is for punks.

As I watched Reggie scamper into the endzone, pointing at Urlacher, I shook my head. I figured, our offense was playing a little sluggish and the Bears looked like the better team at that point. So what the best thing to do? Yeah, fire the other team up more. That's what I would have done too.

I personally think it's BS. It's fine to me as long as it doesn't get to the point of choreographed dances (which I don't think are really far off). Like the league going after ocho cinco alot. He's entertaining! Let him act out, he isn't hurting anyone.

The league is full of garbage....Bush is not part of that garbage but he certainly contributed in a very small way to the diminishing image of the league. In front of a national audience, while behind in the game, he felt the need to taunt a player who he had no business taunting. Celebrate with your teammates, don't humiliate your opponent...that's bush league.
The commish will finally get his point across sooner or later. Get the punks out of the league....and before they leave, fine them for everything so they have nothing to live on when they're done.
I'm glad this happened. I like Reggie...I'm glad he proved his critics wrong and had a monster season, but you start letting small stuff like that slide and then it snowballs into an epidemic.

Although I think that taunting Urlacher was wrong, I don't think he should be fined. I hate all the big tough-guys in the NFL who have to run up the field 10 yards and do a little dance every time they get a sack, get up in a receiver's face after breaking up a pass, or act like they're hot sh** for catching a TD. If they aren't gonna get fined neither should Bush.
That's one of the reasons why I liked Tiki Barber so much. He might've spiked the ball from time to time after a TD, but he mainly high fived his teammates and got off the field.
I just don't like how every time someone gets a tackle they have to celebrate so much. It's your job. Do it, and get back to the huddle

The king of not celebrating anything was Curtis Martin. And unfortunately he is the most underrated back of our time. As a NE fan, I've followed his career since we drafted him. Truly one of the greats; sad no one really appreciated him.

Apparently the whole taunting thing stemmed from Bears taking cheapshots at him, twisting ankles a little bit in piles, etc. I'm not sure what to think on that. If it's true, that's ridiculous. I know Reggie is a real popular player, but no way to show your jealousy by twisting his ankle in piles. If you want a piece of him, drill him in the open field.
If that whole suspicion isn't true, he's still a rookie, remember. I'm sure he'll think twice before he does that again on the opposing team's field, just like I'm sure Hasselbeck felt real dumb when he called that "win" in Green Bay a few years back.
I thought it was funny when the Bears played Seattle in the playoffs this year, Hasselbeck wasn't out there for the coin toss.
