I dont care if he was interviewing a lot for head coaching positions or not, he is still a better DC then anyone they will get.

I understand that alot of people praise this guy, but you have to understand that Love Smith runs the Defense in Chicago, he just prepares the team for their opponents. In all actuality, he failed to prepare the Chicago Bears in the biggest game of the year and it showed in the Superbowl.
Dont get me wrong he is a quality coordinator, but with the coaching staff and talent in Chicago, it's easy to receiver a High Profile.
He's not even the best coordinator whos associated with the Bears in some way or another(Mike Singletary and both Ryan brothers).
I dont want to discredit his success... but enough with media attention.

He deserved a HC job, and is one of the best D. Coordinators out there. I don't see him remaining unemployed for very long.

Another reason Norv Turner shouldnt have been fired....
Ted Contrell hired as DC over Ron Rivera.
Contrell was the DC in Minnesotta and did nothing with the same team Mike Tomlin took over and turned into a Top 5 defense leading to his Head Coaching gig.
Why in the world is he DC over Rivera? The world may never know.

The world may never know. I've heard a lot of teams want a guy with 3-4 experience. Something Rivera has none of. Dallas, SD, Pittsburgh, Atlanta (do they still run a 3-4), and maybe a couple of the other vacancies run a 3-4. Not saying it is a prerequisite, but that is why Cotrell is the DC. Working in SD will give him this experience.

Thank You for clearing that up... I should have thought about the 3-4 scheme the run.
Then again... that also proves why Turner shouldnt have been hired, because he has no expience.
Keeps getting better San Diego

Marty Schottenheimer shouldn't have been fired in the first place. End of discussion.

They lost everyone...
I just think its smart to hire somebody who might now your system. Then again, the system might be everything the Chargers are looking to change.
Once I thought about the Chargers Linebackers...
How have the Chargers kept Edwards and Godfrey happpy as long as they have? Hard to keep two good players on the same team like they have. They are kinda forgoten outside San Diego with Merriman there and the rise of Phillips(Purdue Indy).
