I just finished watching Gridiron gang and the thought that it is based on true events really got me thinking. Alot of the happenings in the movie comes straight from the actual Documentry in 1993 of the actual 1990 cinderella story. It's nice to see a few mens dedication changed the lives of many young men.
This is Michael Black, or in the movie you'd know him as Willie Weathers. I wasnt able to find alot out about him, but he went to Washington State University where he started next to Ryan Leaf on those great '97 and '98 cougar teams. He wasn't drafted in the NFL due to his troubled past, despite posting stellar numbers. He signed with the Seahawks in '99, but was cut even though he played better than Ahman Green in Pre-Season. He had never even played football before being put in Kilpatrick.
