This is Sporting News scouting report on Brady Quinn: - He lacks the big arm to make intermediate-to-deep throws and the zip to fit passes into tight spots. - Is accurate within 10 yards, consistently getting the ball to receivers in good spots. Beyond 20 yards, he struggles with zip and accuracy oin his throws. Has a quick and compact delivery, and shows great technique. - Is adept at finding open receivers and going through progressions. Doesn't read defenses at the same level. Underneath defenders tip or get their hands on too many of his passes. - Is a sneaky athlete. Isn't a big-play scrambler when tucking running but moves well enough in the pocket to avoid sacks and occasionally get a first down. - Is smart but doesn't consistently display good intangibles. Level of confidence and leadership tend to go hand in hand with how the team is performing. - Quinn improved each year in college, though he rarely performed at a high level against the best competition. He likely will start early because of how prepared he is, but he won't succeed at a high level for a long term.
On Jamarcus Russell: - Has the strongest arm in football- pro or college-. Delivers throws with great zip on deep downfield routes. Makes every throw and fits passes into tight spots. Maintains zip even when throwing flat-footed or sidearm. - When not striding or when throwing flat-footed, tends to flick the ball in a three-quarters motion, and his accuracy suffers. Gets rid of the ball quickly but isn't always accurate because of inconsistent footwork and motion. - Sees the field well. Goes through progressions to find open receivers. When forced from the pocket, excels at keeping his head up and surverying the field while scrambling. - Shows the athleticism to make big plays as a scrambler but won't be confused for Mike Vick. Size and strength help him run through arm tackles. Is powerful enough to break tackles. - Shows poise in the pocket, especially in key situations. Was inconsistent early in his career but showed great maturration during his junior season. - Russell must improve his footwork to become a consistent NFL passer. In an ideal situation he would be brought along and allowed to work on his technique for a season or two, but if the Raiders keep the no. 1 pick and take him, he'll have to learn on the job. Still, Russell has the potential to be a top-flight NFL starter for many years.
Who would you rather have? Their mock draft has Quinn falling quite farther than I would agree with, but they also have Kevin Kolb rated better than Quinn, at least in the long run.

Your dream isn't gonna come true...sorry...
God willing the Lions'll take him. I don't know how much longer I can watch Jon Kitna complete passes to the other team like he has such talent at.

I'd love for it to happen, but I know the chances are becoming very very slim... Detroit wouldnt be bad. I am pushing for him to go to in the Top 3. Oaktown, Detroit or Cleveland would be fine to me.
Actually I think hed play well in Cleveland

I dont want Quinn in Oakland. He dosn't fit in with them. He most likely wont be drafted there.

I will laugh at that organization if they take Quinn.
Though it isn't like people aren't laughing already.

I don't see Cleveland taking him and frankly, I think Detroit would be stupid to pass on Joe Thomas.

Joe Thomas is a great Offensive Linemen, but not good enough to pass on a franchise QB.
He's not the strongest linemen, he just has decent footwoork. His play is exactly like Robert Gallrery but worse haha. First rounder? Yes. Answer to your teams problems? No.

Oakland should trade Moss for whatever they can get and draft Calvin.

trade for someone like trent green or another at least decent QB, take johnson and then wait until next year and take someone like Brian Brohm to be your franchise QB. Then with Brohm, Johnson, Moss, and Jordan on offense they could be dominate.

They were supposed to dominate when Collins and Jordan landed in Oakland. Al Davis makes no sense, which is why you will see him take Daymeion Hughes with the first pick.
