I'm not opposed to the new rules, but doesn't this kind of violate an ex post facto law? You can't implement a new rule, and then look back on past violations of that rule and suspend people for that.
I know the connotation is different from the law, but shouldn't this apply, too.

Smart move. I think these guys are nothing but trouble makers and Goodell needed to protect the league's image. Jones and Henry are lucky they're pro althetes, other wise they'd both be in jail.

What is it with former Mountaineer players? I know Henry and Jones are just two from that school, but they did sign Noel Devine and Pat Lazear, and they have a checkered past from high school.
Anyways, I like what Goodell is doing. Doing the one thing that Tagliabue really only failed at as commish.

The suspensions are based upon the old policies - the only thing different is they were punished without being convicted.... the new policy is supposed to be MUCH more strict.

New rules or not, he got what he needed.
At least this comissioner (sp?) has balls.

Well, maybe the whole Bengal's squad will be suspended by the end of this season?

Anybody is free to appeal any suspension.
It just won't change anything.

Goodell handed out the suspension... if Pacman appeals, guess who's the "judge"...
Although he's made plenty of dumb decisions before, maybe he'll try to appeal the suspension to the guy that gave it to him in the first place...

So the news has come out that the night before his meeting with Goodell, Pacman went to a strip club...
And he expects to have his suspension reduced?
