nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/10147306This might be old news. Don't know. Apparently the Chiefs are shopping him around. I don't know of any team that will take him, because he'll demand a high salary, and we're asking for at least two first day picks along with him. I don't mind if they trade him, I just don't want them to draft a RB in the first round this year.

Dante Hall was just traded recently for the Rams' fifth-rounder, and we'll move up two spots in the third round. With the likely trade of Trent Green to Miami, and now the LJ rumors, we could be siting on 8, 9, 10 picks this draft, depending on how it all shakes out. I'm just glad Carl Peterson is getting off his butt and getting shit done.

I don't know what the Green deal is supposed to be, but are you really getting a first rounder for him?

I don't know what the Green deal is supposed to be, but are you really getting a first rounder for him? I'd love to get a first-rounder, but Green isn't worth that anymore. Maybe last year, but this year, he has health concerns. Still, Peterson is asking for a second and seventh in return. Eventually, they'll get a deal done, but it will probably be a fourth and a seventh or sixth rounder for Green. KC might throw in some cash considerations to sweeten the deal, but not for a fourth and a sixth/seventh.

OK, I read you're earlier post wrong. I thought you said you'd have the 9th pick (Miami's) that is why I asked. A 2 and 7 seems fair.

I think the best deal the chiefs could do is get a 4th this year and then a conditional pick based on performance for next year. Say Green starts all 16 games and achieves certain statistical levels its a 2nd. He starts more than 10 games (w/o the stats) its a 3rd/4th, starts 6-10 its a 5th, starts less than 6 its a 6th, starts none its nothing.

The Packers, per a local radio station, offered the Chiefs their first and fourth-rounders for this year for LJ.
I say, do it, if it's in fact true. We're not going to be very good this year anyways, and history has said that RB's with 400+ carries do not fare well following that type of season. (See Shaun Alexander, Jamal Anderson) His value right now is pretty high.

Well, an update on the Green trade. Apparently, Carl is hung up on getting a fourth-rounder for him, while Miami is offering a sixth-rounder.
I wish Carl would swallow his pride, grow a pair, and take the deal.
