I'd love to see the Chiefs trade up next year and get a guy like Brian Brohm. I honestly think they won't need to trade up to get somone like brohm

Are you saying that Croyle/Huard will do well enough in KC to keep the Chiefs from drafting a QB next year? Like I've said before, Croyle has the tools to succeed in the league, he just needs to stay healthy.
I'd still like to see them either pursue someone in FA, or draft one in 2008. Brohm's a likely top five pick, and I think KC will be respectable (6-10, 7-9) next season, so they'd have to trade up to get him unless he flops, making Chad Henne or JD Booty the top QB available. '08's pretty deep in quarterbacks, so guys like Booty or Colt Brennan will be available in rounds 2 & 3.

I think that if Croyle comes out and looks like something maybe you sign a vet as an insurance policy. That ultimate dream would be the Chiefs grossly overpaying for A.J. Feely like the Dolphins did a couple of years ago.

Good idea, but that vet is already signed and on the roster - Damon Huard.

Feeley would probably be better than any QB we have right now, maybe on the same level w/Huard, but I think there's better out there. Plus, you're right, we'd probably overpay him. Not many people thought we would get Trent Green after his injury, and when we did, the Chiefs were ripped for it. That turned out alright, I would think. Feeley would command a good amount of money, probably just as much, if not more than Huard got, and he wouldn't be assured the job. Not knocking Feeley, I just think more options will open up later on down the road.
This one trade could set off a pretty big QB carousel, IMO.

Feely would be terrible for you guys. He sucks outside of the Eagles system. I would just hope you guys would do it so the Eagles could get another pick.

Have you heard anything about this? If it is, this is the first I've heard of the Chiefs being interested in A.J. It would be a bad move, considering we just re-signed Huard, and like I said, there will be better out there soon.

I just pulled it out of the air. I know the Eagles are going to try and unload either Feely or Holcomb because of Kolb coming to town.

As long as LJ plays (which I understand could potentially be a problem) they won't have to worry about bottom 5... maybe bottom ten or twelve, but himself alone will probably account for more yards than the Bills, and will do enough to beat out four other sucky teams like Cleveland, Houston, etc.

The Bucs of the 80's and 90's sucked hardcore. The Raiders suck hardcore now. The Chiefs won't be that good this year, but going 6-10 or 7-9 isn't sucking hardcore, they'll be your more run-of-the-mill NFL team this year. I'm fine with that.

Every team goes through a streak like that. I think it is beneficial to go through some losing because it tests the commitment of your players. I think of the Eagles in the '80s. Between '82 and '87 they did not post more than seven wins. After that they had five straight seasons with double digit wins.
I think that the Chiefs organization will find the players they need in a short amount of time. They have some holes to fill but I don't think their management is dumb enough to let them go long. They may not have the smartest guys in the front office, but they do the right things.

God rest his soul, but Carl Peterson was way, way too loyal to Lamar Hunt, and vice-versa. I mean, the Chiefs are a good organization, run by good people, but it's at the point where it is now basically a mom and pop business. He let go of Marty Schottenheimer, and instead of getting a coach from outside the organization, he went with Gunther Cunningham. After him? Dickie V, who is you guessed it - good friends with Carl & the gang. Now? Herm Edwards - played in Philly under Dickie V when the GM was none other than Carl Peterson. I think he's made some good personnel moves, but he's never gutted the team and started from scratch. He's always relied on old retread veterans to lead the team, and it's gotten us three playoff appearances in thirteen seasons. I think with Lamar gone, he can kinda do a little more than he could before.
