You have Romo - why do you need Culpepper?

You have Romo - why do you need Culpepper? Well they do need someone to hold the ball on field goals...

heh, im not sold on Romo for this season. I loved what he did last year but he kinda collapsed at the end. The blotched kick has to be the worst Dallas Cowboys moment in my life. If Romo fails this year, then we're definetly going to find a new franchise QB.

Romo is done when he plays the Eagles in Philadelphia. The fans are going to be on his ass about the field goal incident.

Well, I'm just glad they quit jerking Trent around. Class guy, didn't deserve any of the shit he got from both sides. Fair compensation if you ask me. I think Carl's demands from the start might have been too high (2008 2nd and 7th) but a fifth will work fine. We need picks and players in the worst way, and now we've freed up some cap space, nearly 9 mil. Just gotta figure out who the third QB will be, because I have a feeling we're going to need him, with our quarterback situation the way it is. I'd actually like to see Carl go get Culpepper, but he's a risky proposition, and I think the money is better spent on revamping the interior defensive line.

I love how everyone kissed Romo's ass...he drops a field goal snap and suddenly he's a terrible quarterback?

He was a terrible quarterback the entire season. ;D Anyway, this leaves an interesting situation for Daunte Culpepper. Most of the teams have filled their quarterback needs. I think he has a shot of to Atlanta though. Although, who knows how he is medically.

I hope he gets the opportunity.

I watched him in pre-season games last year, and he's got a gun, but terribly erratic and he threw a couple of INT's before being relegated to the practice squad. Everyone around KC is saying that Croyle has the best shot to be the starter, including Herm, but the smart money is on Huard to start game one. I'd love to see Brodie start, but I'm worried about his ability to stay healthy. That might be the only thing that holds him back from a solid NFL career, because he has the tools to be a good one.

Croyle is not NFL material. I think Chiefs will have a QB problems this year.

Croyle is not NFL material. I think Chiefs will have a QB problems this year. They should have addressed this issue in the draft. They could have drafted Trent Edwards, Chris Leak, etc., which were all late-round picks, and with Leak, a proven winner, they could have avoided the issue.

Can you blame the Chiefs for wanting to give Croyle a shot?

I would have liked Edwards, but the Chiefs have more pressing issues on the defensive line, and they took care of those needs, getting two DT's in rounds 2 & 3. Leak's a winner, but he's basically Croyle v.2, maybe slightly better than Croyle is now. I'd love to see the Chiefs trade up next year and get a guy like Brian Brohm. But probably won't happen. Carl likes big-name FA QB's.

I was reading on realgm that the Jags may be interested in Daunte.
I wouldnt count out Atlanta either depending on the whole Mike Vick situation.

Daunte to the Jags would be interesting, since they have two starting quarterbacks on the roster in Leftwich and David Garrard, either of whom I would love to see in a red Chiefs' uni. It really makes either one expendable.
