I just wonder about the player development now. I think it is something owners are in favor of, but I wonder how it will go now. I for one will say that it was always interesting to watch this football in the off-season of the NFL. I know you will say the Arena League but that really doesn't do it for me that much. I just got sick of the hype built up for the Arena League. Mainly because people go crazy for the players being hit into the same boards hockey players get hit into 82 games a year.

There will be a decent football league set up in Germany, they have the fan base for it.

it was basically the NFDL...so I think something else will crop up because it was something teams took advantage of

minor league football is a hard thing to maintain.... there have been TONS of leagues floating through the past 20 years that never caught on... there will be more in the future. It's hard to come up with a blueprint of how to do it. Most of y'all are pretty young to remember when the CFL expanded into the US - it was weird to see a 150 yard field or whatever it was squeezed into the Alamodome... but I did see Flutie while he was still with... Calgary?

Wasn't there talk of the Mav's owner coming up with some 8 team league or something with later round draft picks? I don't know. Thought I heard that around somewhere.

Thought I heard that around somewhere. Yeah, it would be played on Friday nights. That sort of sucks though and I think will be the main point in stopping from going. High school football is really big in some places. |
