www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/10268502Wow, did not see this coming. This is huge news for the Chiefs with the current contract situation of Larry Johnson and gives them both Michael Bennett, and Priest Holmes now for security. Question is just how good can Holmes be at 33 years old, and two years removed from football?

I'm not going to read too much into this yet, but if Holmes indeed comes back, I'll say that LJ likely will demand a trade, IMO.

Which is actually bad news for the Chiefs. Because Priest probably only has a season or two at best left in him, and will they even be quality/healthy seasons. The offensive line has fallen apart the past two years and the veteran quarterback is gone. Herman Edwards has some work to do indeed.

I can imagine Priest has lost almost all his form since his injury in '05 and the Chiefs would be stupid to take Holmes over Johnson. I think it is a great story, but Holmes isn't going to rush for 20 touchdowns anytime soon.

Priest will probably see 7-10 touches a game if that and that's if he's half of what he was before the injury

LJ ain't going anywhere... trades in the NFL happen as often as the Lions win football games.

Then Jon Kitna predicts 10+ trades this season LJ wont get traded, but sources say he may holdout. I dont think his situation will turn into a Lance Briggs/Asante Samuel type deal though.

I don't think L.J. would be traded and if he is, the Chiefs will need to get a damn good player in return. The only time I can think of in recent memory that saw such big names moved was when Terrell Owens was traded to Philadelphia for an over the hill defensive linemen and picks and when Champ Bailey was traded to Denver for Clinton Portis.

Reports out of Chicago says the Tribune Co. and Briggs are close... and as far the picking on anyone, I named the Lions simply because the it's easier to get wins in the NFC than the AFC... but good point DB nonetheless

The offensive line has fallen apart the past two years and the veteran quarterback is gone. Herman Edwards has some work to do indeed. The losses of Shields and Roaf aren't good, but I think they were inevitable. When the Chiefs made the playoffs this year, I knew big Will was gone. He wanted to go out on a high note, and he did that. There's still Casey Wiegmann at center and Brian Waters, who I feel is extremely underrated and a top-3 OG in the NFL, at left guard. We're still not in bad shape, but the OL isn't near as strong as it used to be. As for Holmes, I really doubt he gets a ton of touches. Everybody said that the Chiefs would miss Tony Richardson when he left via FA, but I didn't think so. T-Rich was invaluable when Priest started because he was a good blocker on the iso and sweep plays that KC ran under Al Saunders. With LJ, Herm runs a lot of one-back sets.

Priest has always been one of my top 5 favorite players. Im just glad to see him come back and play. I think that he might be able to be good enough to allow Herm to create a 2 headed monster tailback system like all the other NFL teams.

Does any of this really matter? LJ has "Jamaal Anderson" written all over him.

Anderson had what, one good season? Johnson is twice the RB that JA ever was.
So yeah, it does matter.
