So who's buying madden 08?????

I'd get it at the release date, but I don't have the cash or time to go out and get it at this time. I'll probably end up getting it about a month or so past the release date, or maybe a bit sooner if things fall right.

I actually thought M07 was pretty damn good. My only beef with it was the numbering of rookie players after drafting. It's fine to wear a number in the teens or single digits as a college player, but NFL CB's don't wear #'s 1-19.

I hope that's fixed. If not, I can roll with it, but it's just a little annoying.

The IGN reviews are in....360 gets an 8.7 and generally positive feedback, while the PS3 version gets dragged through the mud and is handed a 7.7. So ASM, how's that investment working out? (Had to get that in there, sorry)

About 50 people showed up at our store for it..generally pretty nice people, too. We got everyone out at like 12:10, making sure they all pre-ordered and whatnot. Before, me and my manager played a game. He was winning, 17-14 and instead of kneeling the ball with 10 seconds left, he tried to pass. I think it was actually AJ Hawk who picked it off and ran it in for a TD, but it was great nonetheless.

The one thing that I have noticed is that skill players (I.E. RBs, WRs, and DBs) lose too much speed when they are imported from NCAA to Madden. I tested this out three times, and Darren McFadden (95 speed in NCAA) went down to 86 spd, 88 spd, and 87 spd on the three seperate occasions. Also, MLB's still lose ovr., and talent points like mad when they are imported.

I really wish that those would've been fixed because they were gamekillers for me last year.

Here's my impressions after i played my first game- Raiders vs Seahawks where i lost 17-10 (I was Oakland)

-Not as many fumbles as NCAA 08

-Soundtrack
-Alternate jerseys already in the game

Dislikes
-Damn radio announcer
-Stadium PA Announcer saying "make noise for your defense fans"
-useless Marshall Faulk pregame show
-Kickoff Camera Angle
-Frequent Injuries (3 players in this game got hurt but returned to action)

I adjusted the sliders before i played and the results made the game more realistic- stat wise. Except Hassellback had three interceptions.

I loved JaMarcus' cannon arm- it is amazing. Except i only completed 6/18 passes for 141 yards and 2 picks. Oh well, maybe because he's a rookie.

One pick came directly after i hiked the ball. After my offensive guys moved around, i pushed the A button to hike but instead JaMarcus throws a lob to the Tight End and it gets picked.

Another weird interception moment came in the endzone where Hassellbeck would get picked by Michael Huff. I would return the ball about 20 yards down the field before getting gang tackled and fumbling the ball. The ball didnt go out of bounds so the Hawks recovered it and were back in scoring position.

I need to get a feel for the weapon system in order to utilize it well. The Raiders had a lot of weapons on defense.

Overall, i like this game alot. It is much better than the past two games for the 360 but not on Madden 05 level.

That's a gamekiller for me, because my favorite thing in Madden is to import those draft classes. Getting that wrong, assuming the problems I read on MM are right, basically means I won't buy Madden this year (not that I have since 05 anyway).

I know that but when i was renting NCAA 08, every game a player would get injured. On some occasions, it would be more than one guy. Im just hoping that same issue wont hit me again as I play Madden 08.

This is starting to piss me off about NCAA. It is still a great game, but twice P.J. Hill has been injured for a game in one and two quarters in the other. Still an awesome game though

Ok i played another game against the Eagles with a slight decrease in interceptions. I was the Dolphins and I got ripped apart!

Miami's O-Line sucks ass and old Trent Green kept gettin sack. It pissed me off. Im sure this is a sign of things to come for the real Miami Dolphins this year.

I played around with the defensive playmaker option and found some success with it. The run to daylight mode is still intact so if you want to open lanes for your tailback, pick a lineman and go to work.

A lot of rookies dont have their real picks (a lot of 1st round picks dont) but oh well. The Menu is nearly the same as last year's.

Still I enjoy the game and am playing with teams with great offenses like Detroit (Calvin Johnson is a beast), San Diego (Offense is the best one in the game IMO), and Cincy. Hopefully I can start playing on Live in the next couple of days.

I picked up my copy today and I am very pleased with it. It was very realistic in my first game as I played with the Bears and lost to the Colts, 23-17. I still have to get used to the new controls, but i should be fine. Overall, very good.
