Damn... my mouth dropped when I read the news that he died this morning. I knew he was shot in the leg and didn't think too much of it. I was like... wow... this world is f'in nuts. I didn't realise it hit a major artery and required surgery and it could ever end this way.
...
... wow...

He got shot in a very bad place. When I heard his femoral artery got hit, I figured he was in a very serious condition. It's sad to see a guy cut down in the prime of his life. Great player and a guy who seemed to be getting his shit together. Hopefully his little girl will not be scarred by this.

R.I.P. Sean. I remember his second year in the NFL me and my cousin used to debate on who was better between him and Ed Reed, because Reed was my favorite player, and Taylor was his. Both players are extremely talented, it's unfortunate Sean's ended like this.

Spartan, the reason I posted his criminal past is because someone from his criminal past may have had it in for him.

Yea and I was pretty much pointing the finger at his girlfriend out of suspicion. Nothing against him, to be honest, I liked him quite a bit.

Miami is a bad area....if you wander around you'll end up in bad areas. Trust me. I drove in the wrong neighborhood without knowing until my friends told me to get out ASAP. Taylor can escape the hood and the ghettos of south beach but his ties remain strong. He has friends.....as well as foes. I live in Miami and have to respond to this...it's not a bad place like your explaining it to be. There are bad parts in every big city and there always will be. But really, you can make as many wrong turns as you want and they won't hurt you unless you do something to them or apart of something that they don't like (other gang). I can't remember the last time there was a crime on South Beach. There are so many cops out there at all times that you cant do anything. Sure there are many gangs down here, but like I said before there in other big cities too. As long as your not in the "rival" gang they don't care about you. Taylor was definitely into something that he should not have been into. Yes, I still do feel bad for him and his girlfriend and little girl. But, he was most likely with the wrong crowd off the field and thats what led to this. The two that broke in even cut the phone lines so they couldn't call 911 after what they did. They weren't out to rob him....they were out to kill him. R.I.P Sean

I agree with Loki. It reminds me of the Benoit thing in a way. Everyone felt bad for Benoit and then the true news came out. Taylor had to of done something for this to happen. But I wish the best of luck to him. So when ur house gets robbed, and maybe u get hurt I can say u had to do something bad for ur house to get robbed. Comments like these make me hate ignorant people like u. This thread should not be filled with his criminal record or anyhting, If u didnt know Taylor was starting to mature over this past year and was shedding his troublemaker friends and the redskins team noticed as they noticed he was becoming a leader and becoming careful in life because of his new baby girl. Just let the man Rest In Peace and Give all ur prayers and blessings to his daughter who now has to live her life without a father thanks to someone who thought he'd rob a house. BTW i did think the whole 8 day prior break in was a littly fishy and when I heard that the air vents were busted it kinda made me remember a CSI episode where the guy was living in the air vents lol but doubt that was the case. I hope they find who did this because I'd be willing to kill the killer myself. They said Sean might of been targeted because of the knife left on his bed in the previous break in but I highly doubt it was a hit just because a hitman would of killed him for sure not shot him in the leg and run. RIP sean u were my fav. football player and u will be ever remembered, prayers to his daughter.

He has friends.....as well as foes. it doesnt surprise me that he got shot but it's just weird how it happened. if it was a robbery, why wasn't anything taken? Where was his girlfriend at the time? Like Loki said, he's a millionaire so shouldnt he have some security? It just looks like a hit and run to me. He was breaking off those ties with his troublemaker friends and didnt want that lifestyle anymore, Also this part of Miami was not bad at all, get ur facts straight. If it was a hit and run they person would of made sure sean was dead not came in his house shoot him in once in the leg and leave, Use logic.

Regardless of the circumstances it's tragic to see a young man's promising life cut short, before he had the oppurtunity to show the world what he was fully capable of doing, especially in the area of raising his daughter.

Don't get me wrong, I feel bad for his family due to his death. In a way, it almost sickens me how people have so much sympathy for an athlete when people die all over this world in much worse situations.

the saddest thing happened to me yesterday. I have a friend (who is a girl) who was talking about Sean Taylor with me and another friend while we were eating outside. She told me how she had met Sean Taylor three times (twice at the Redskins yearly fan fest) and actually held a conversation with him. She even got her Taylor jersey signed and like all the other Redskins fans up here, she wore the jersey.
Well we were talking and all of a sudden she starts crying. It was hard to make out what she was saying but whatever she was trying to say had to do with Sean. I have never seen her like this and am use to her teasing me for being a Dallas fan. My friend and I didn't really know what to say but we managed to comfort her and I told her if she needed anything I will always be there for her.
I never really thought much about Sean but I admire him now after learning more about he managed to change his life after the birth of his baby girl and it's sad to see his passing touch so many people up here and around the country. It's always sad to see a person that people loved suddenly have his life taken away.

msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7500290That's coming from one of his best friends. I know Rolle's Mom and Sister because they both work at Homestead Senior High where I was the special teams coach this year. I've met Rolle and he's a really honest guy and he tells you the way it is as you can see from that link.
