I remember hearing this rule mentioned back last year or the year before with the Eagles. Can't remember all the details but I think there was something with signing Koy Detmer as the holder/backup QB or something rather...

thats retarded what if first two get hurt and then the first stringer can come back. I really dont see the logic in this rule.

You can place your 3rd quarterback on the inactive list, but he can still play if both other QBs get hurt. If you want to take him in and out at will, then he takes up a roster spot.
